Is this the correct board to talk about archery?
Anyone here do archery?
I just joined a club 2 weeks ago and have been going each Saturday.

>Is this the correct board to talk about archery?
Technically yes. Practically, no. Prepare for shitposts.
>Anyone here do archery?
I did on a school trip once, was pretty fun but I was shit and I'm sure the blunt-ass arrows couldn't penetrate the targets.

>Practically, no
How come?
>>1709189
Shitposting.

Is /sp/ better?
>>1709170
I have a little pistol crossbow. Shit is cash. Little bolts are hard to come by though, and I hate ordering shit of the internet. Always wanted to shoot a longbow, I just never have enough time or money to invest in a good one. Have a non-shitpost bump.

Interestingly those pistol crossbows are more powerful than a longbow.

>Anyone here do archery?
No but I would love to make bows
Nikyu Kyodoka here. plztopost about archery!
Got to try it once a somewhat nearby park. It was fun. I enjoyed it. Would love to practice more but living in a major city is a bitch for this sport.

I doubt an archery thread would last long enough on /sp/ for anyone interested to notice it

Just join a club

better question is why is korea dominating archery at every olympics
also OP, yes we had archery a plenty before the wrestling apocalypse
Funny is that I moved from archery to judo and bjj, and to get to where I was comfortable with my ability to harvest deer with bow hunting, I learned some breathing exercises that helped settle nerves and stabilize shots under pressure.
As a result when I'm in someone's side control or mount, I don't panic and my breathing is on point. I never gas out.

What does the world of competition archery look like? There's an archery shop two minutes down the street from me, but the qt at the counter just shoots for fun and hunting and doesn't know what kinds of competitions there are. I'm wanting to pick up a bow--first for hunting, but eventually for competition. Should I just get a regular hunting compound bow, or something else? Where do I go to learn about traditional bowmaking and shit?
