Playing the PC version, I managed to figure out the problem with the WWE games as a whole. PS4 and Xbox One have adopted PC architecture, i.e x86. The WWE developer Yukes are too lazy to rewrite a new engine, and they have less experience with anything beyond a PS2.

I'll explain it in laymans way, they're taking a 20 year old building and applying paint over it every year in order to make it shine. But the buildings columns, support, concrete are still old hence the building will still be shit.

The current engine is a port of their 2001 engine. They have added modern shaders and third party physics on top of that. That's why the game cannot handle more the 6 people on screen.

PC's are extremely powerful and Consoles are currently at 50% of today's gaming PC power. That 50% is still good enough to run games like Skyrim and GTA 5.

So WWE devs have no fucking excuse
