Guy who needed shuvit advice on the last thread here again.

Im landing shuvits now here and there stationary but i just need to get them while rolling. Any tips besides just attempting them rolling?

And i also landed my first heel flip today as well. It was pretty surreal feeling getting bot my feet perfectly on the bolts. When i attempted them previously, id always have just my heels on the deck with my toes hugging the ground.

I got these wheels and abec 5 bearings for my board since they were the cheapest at my shop when I first bought parts for my skateboard, but I find that it's difficult to roll on most surfaces that aren't polished like a marble floor, like I get top pushing speed at the skatepark but I feel like I always have to push when I'm on flat ground anywhere else, could it be the wheels or the bearings?

In other news, I'm trying to get both my heelflips and kickflips right. I'm in a pretty bizarre situation, at first I only tried to learn the heelflip, got stuck along the way because my board would always rotate slightly frontside, preventing me from landing. I decided I'd try the kickflip to see if I'd learn anything that could help me get at least one of those tricks down.
Now things are weird as shit because I can do both when carpetboarding, but it seems the weight of the wheels and trucks make it too hard to keep the board straight, so I still get the thing where my board turns frontside on heelflip attempts and backside on kickflips.

Any ideas?

bought these at my shop, attached them to a set of boxer briefs, when i skate bowls or just anticipate falling more than usual I wear the briefs. pretty comfortable and they allow you to drop on your hips without destroying them, still hurts a little landing on your hip but they cut out a ton of the impact. plus they're invisible. give yourself a chance to heal.

After that I started doing tricks (slowly learning anything by myself) and then I created an hybrid between a cruiser and an old school board
I went to college and found peeps in my courses that had boards laying around, and as I love restoring boards, I just repaired and salvaged everything I could
Now I believe I'm decent, after a few years of trial and error

Smaller boards are lighter and easier to flip- therefor often more desirable for technical skating. Larger boards are heaver and more difficult to flip, often more desirable for transition skating.

That being said, board size and shape are 100% preference.

If you're a good skater, you can kickflip a 7.5 popsicle or a 9 inch oldschool board no problem.

99% of skateboards yoiu can buy in stores probably come from the same place. Made of the same wood, same glue. I'd imagine most companies buy blanks from the same places and slap their graphics on them. even big grassroots purveyors like jeremy klien probably buys blanks by the boatload before screen-printing graphics

The reality of the situation is that after skating 15-20 different "brands" i couldn't say with any certainty that they were made any differently. the only thing you should care about a skateboard deck is the size and the shape. everything else is fluff. better to spend your time worrying about what graphics you like and what brands you want to support.

tldr: quality wise? no
but money spent supporting a company you like is money keeping that company afloat, paying skaters, promoting demos, inspiring new skaters, pushing for parks to be built, and doing good for skateboarding in general.
