What's the general consensus on Krav Maga a.k.a. Jew Jitsu?

Its a meme.
If you don't spar then its a shit martial art.

What started this meme that there isn't any sparring in Krav Maga?

Usually the last 20-30 minutes of my classes are spent sparring with a partner.

Any good instructor will have you do lots of both. But whatever you say, you seem to be the expert here.

It depends on the instructor. Some will allow it, some won't.

KM does not appeal to sport fighters like BJJ or Judo practitioners because there is no sport application for it, and the only instance you would use KM is if your life is in danger.

Some Krav Maga gyms spar. Some don't.

The thing with Krav Maga is that there are several organisations who teach their own version. And trainers who aren't aligned with any organisations who teach their own version. The quality control is really lacking.

But some schools are pretty good. And others pretty bad.
