I understand many, if not most, choose to use AEGs for field games and what not (or for those who can afford them, HPA or Daytonas), but how many here sometimes buy a GBB of some sort, just to have it, just because it's fun to shoot and because it's different, even if it never sees use in games?

I use a kwa mp7 the hop up rubber just broke after 2 owner and 1 year of personal use

So I was looking at getting a beginner rifle after using friends weapons (instead of renting) for about 4 trips. So far I used: f2k,m16,m4 cqb, and an l96 sniper. I did reasonably well with all of them, although the sniper was a nightmare to use because no pistol.

Anyway I know you guys recommend an m4 or an ak. I don't know much about what to look for besides reading the pastebin, my budget is a maximum of 350$ but I'd much prefer to keep it between 2-300$. These are some of the weapons I was eyeballing. What do you guys think? Anything you'd recommend?

G&P guns all have the same internals. Pick the one you like the most. The retailers especially in airsoft business will say all kinds of bullshit, so don't bother believing what they tell you. There are cheaper guns that might perform about as well or even better than G&P on paper, but in reality they might be built with the cheapest labour and parts imaginable resulting in horrible build quality. G&P guns have great externals, okay internals and they shouldn't have surprises in them. They aren't perfect, but you'd have to spend a whole lot more to get something even close to perfect.

I'm looking in to buying the perfect platform for teching, I've mostly worked on v2/v3 and had some experience with v6.

Currently I have a few guns which are actually starting to fall apart from owning them for so long, but the internals are still going strong via proper parts and technique used.

No reason whatsoever to stay away from JG, they're affordable, and surprisingly durable and performing guns (for their price range, of course). Most of the time, they come with M120 springs already installed in their gearboxes, so all you'll have to do is to upgrade the gas compartment to an air seal and tight system (and change the bucking, they tend to arrive already dried out, plus they're shit). Ok, everyone telling you that heavier bb's lower joules and fps are right, but i'm assuming they're missing the point. If you're concerned about passing the chrono, then you are probably going to be forced to use .2's, as that's the standard in most fields.

One way to get around this (provided your gun's fps isn't too crazy) is to crank your hop up at the chrono. I mean really crank it. So high that your bbs curve up excessively. Having your hop up cranked will significantly slow your rounds, thereby lowering fps. I always use this method if i want to get a gun that shoots too hot through the chrono and no one's ever got wise.

Mind you, fps rules are there for a reason, and if you're going that route, you have to be responsible with your engagement distances.

That's not how energy works. Cutting your FPS through the hop-up is also wrong. Almost as bad as using heavier bbs.

All of those of mesh+cortex seem like they were too lazy to cut and profile it, i'll attempt to make something like this, and maybe get rid of the mesh at the cheeks are for better cheekweld.

How viable would it be to attach a bottle/plastic tube to the side of a hicap mag (drilling a square hole to it and putting the bottle in there with glue/duct tape) to make a large capacity high cap for a support MG type weapon? Sorta like a DIY box mag.

The a&k one that is manual wind never gave me any shit when I had one back in the day. Damn near all autowind ones are shit. Even the one that come with the pkm has a hiccup every once in a while.

Sidenote, does anyone here know how to take the pkm boxmag apart? I can't find a guide online. I mostly want to get the guts out to clean any shit away that might have built up.
