It depends on the teacher

There are shitty ones and good ones out there

But for the most part, kenpo is just a hard striking TMA. Just take up boxing/kickboxing if you want to be good at striking.

You'll save yourself the trouble of buying a gi and doing dumbass choreographed katas and dance moves with opponents who let you attack them.
