This year's SMUG Squad Milsim trip will be at Milsim West's The Caspian Gap on OCTOBER 21-23 IN PERRY, GA AT THE GUARDIAN CENTER. Then ENTIRE facility is in play, not just the 75 odd acres that American Milsim got access to during Ironhorse, but the ENTIRE 850 ACRES OF FIRST RESPONDER FACILITY. This includes an abandoned highway littered with cars, plenty of innawoods, and the best part of all, a huge 75 acre mout facility complete with a full-scale subway training facility. Faction will be Cossacks. required attire is at least a track jacket (track pants recommended) over a telnyshka. OD or Russian cammo bottoms are also acceptable if preferred. There will be a group buy from grey-shop for Mockba sneakers and any other Russian gear for anyone going, to be delivered by hand at meetup.

One carpool is coming out of Conneticut going south. The second is coming out of Milwaukee-Chicago area and will be picking up anyone flying into the Atlanta airport. These carpools will be leaving in time to get to Perry by 1200 on that Friday. The third carpool will be out of the Boston area and arrive a day earlier to stay at the hotel which will be our meetup point. Once we have everything we need, including any needed trips to local stores for food and other supplies, we'll head over to the AO,

G&g motors arent the best thing indeed. I usually aim for f430 motor, 13:1 gears and M110 spring as standard upgrade while leaving the rest in stock condition (hopup rubber if needed...).

Milwaukee-Chicago area. About 6-10 acres, with a large, high-ceiling modular warehouse building taking up about one or two acres of that. Warehouse will contain the pro shop and indoor staging as well as the primary indoor field, set up like a tight, downtown shopping bazaar in an Asian or Mid East city. Outdoors will have more wide open spaces, but be set up like a shanty town/favela, park space, and high-rise construction sites respectively, with a bit of train yard on the favela side and modular buildings on the hi-rise side.
Call it Downtown Airsoft or The Bazaar or some shit. Heated indoor field only during the winter, and air conditioned during oppressively hot summer days, outdoor areas open during the outdoor season when the temp is good.

Yearly Event will be called Insurgent and will tap the local role-playing community as well as airsofters, where a small group of BLUFOR has to stop and foil an even smaller group of OPFOR on the field from completing their objectives while surrounded by civilians and being held to a very strict ROE. Teams that have had their turn at BLUFOR get cycled out and put onto the civilian side and might also get an OPFOR agenda card. Plot is in a certain part of America there's been an insurgent uprising. Martial law has been declared and it's up to the team of BLUFOR, be they anything from local beat cops to special operations, to foil the domestic insurgents' plot.

Anyway, would love to do the field, only problem would be construction costs. Would cost AT LEAST a million in start-up, especially if put closer to either city, and I don't know anyone who would be able to invest that much.

I'd try to buy some land that has some pre existing industrial or office structures and build various concrete fortifications. Legitimate trench zone akin to WW1 style, room clearing CQB area, urban ruins style area etc etc with of course a woods area. It would be in the northeast United States as I love New England woods. Yearly events would be an American civil war between Pro-Fed and Anti-Fed factions involving objective holding and small side events involving supplies such as food and water acquisition as well as ammunition or drug seizes. Basically I'd want a field that has unique and well built/designed areas for varied combat.

Get the real one first.
The Smith & Wesson M&P-15 is a good budget rifle. Go for the Sport model if you need it to be cheaper (no dust cover or forward assist).

If you need to you can later replace the barrel if you don't like it, and a Nickel Boron plated BCG is a worthwhile upgrade to any AR-15, remarkably easy to clean, for people worried about carbon build-up in the expansion chamber (for whatever reason), this is THE item to get.

Making any hobby a job makes you generally start to hate it. For me, I started to hate it when the player base became mostly little kids. There was a time when it was mostly 14-20 year olds and it was pretty fun. But then when nothing but a bunch of little shits that even say the letter "r", break / steal shit from me and the field, that's when I truly started to despise it. They won't let you have an automatic weapon just because you want one, there's some steps involved (of course, it's possible), but they're much more lenient with things like barrel length and stocks, you can easily have something like a Steyr SPP or H&K HK94 with a normal length barrel on a common license, or a semi-auto shotgun with like a 14.5" barrel

That said, Switzerland is one of the places in Europe which actually conserves a lot of historical weapons, automatic or not, partially because of their laws, and I'm very grateful for that, many curio & relic would have been melted for scrap in Europe if it wasn't for Switzerland, at that, it's a country where you can actually go and shoot your collected automatic weapons (some countries will allow you to collect automatic and other weapons, but not really shoot them at all).

I'm also glad that they still produce 7.5mm ammo for just domestic purposes, the K31 is militarily obsolete but you can still get brand new GP11 loads every year (they make a run of batches once a year), it's for people who still use that rifle, and for national sports.
They also export that ammo for sale, and the K31 is pretty cheap still, especially for what it is (and they never saw war, so typically they're in very good condition), it's probably the best milsurp rifle still available.

Conscripts have the option to buy their service rifle at the end of their run, but the rifle will be taken to an armory where the bolt is replaced and the fire-selector is pinned, so it's not quite as awesome as it first sounds, but it's still kind of cool, a rifle is a rifle, and the Stgw.90 isn't bad by any means.

Also as I recall, you'd actually need a weapons license proper after that to get to keep ammunition at home with your service rifle, otherwise you'd have to get it at a range each time.

Top kek. You wanna not deal with kids, don't ever go to an indoor field. With the right approach and a firm hand you can get even the most shitter kids in line, because at the end of the day, you're the ref. If you kick rulebreaking little shits off the field, they can't do shit. If your boss goes over your head and puts 'em back in, well then that's the problem with the field, not the kid. I've always had more issues with adults where I am because they always think they're the big boys who think they know what they're doing, but in the end the result is the same: they cross the line, they're off my field.

God do I know this feel. Although I have been able to stop myself from buying guns since I rarely ever get out and play.
I more or less finished my Gulf War kit a couple of months back and I'm yet to actually play a game in full kit. Like, I don't even care about showing up to pick-up games in full kit anymore because why even put forth the effort? If I go to a casual pick-up game then I'd probably just wear regular clothing and my ALICE rig.

The best way to deal with little kids is to buy gear so much better than theirs that they just can't compete

What's the deal with airsoft PKMs? You can get one new from evike for 300 dollars, yet other sites list them upwards of 500 dollars. It's an A&K which is only made by A&K. You're not buying for quality, you're buying for design. Don't get me wrong, the gun is fairly sturdy, but it's really only worth about $300, and that's mostly just due to the amount of specially made externals. If you want an expensive PKP that's actually worth the cost, LCT is working on one. Hopefully it'll be cheaper than the M60.

Built this thing in Junior Highschool carpentry out of the bottom of a fiberglass sailboat. This thing is the definition of durable, it has not yet broken on me outside of needing to replace the plexiglass for something thicker when a Polarstar guy went point blank on it. Now it is honestly a piece of good work. Everything on it is modular, so I can change the grips, the borders and plexiglass, and gave it a good once over with the black paint.

I've been reading through various sites forums and other shit about range and accuracy and I've seen opinions and supposed tests that widebore inner barrels are better for range and accuracy than tighbore barrels. Is this actually true and if it is does it still hold true for GBBRs? Logically speaking tighter bore doesn't allow that much gases to escape leading to higher velocity and longer range but not necessarily higher accuracy. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one though but logic would dictate this way.

I'm going to Fitchburg for a 2 day OP, which is 2+ hours from me. RPC is 2+ hours, Stronghold is just over an hour, and Extreme is 2.5 hours away. If you don't put in the travel to other fields you deserve your experiences.

Personally, I have see all the people/teams that I don't want to play with frequent FUBAR. The owner doesn't have the best reputation in the area, so why would I go to a field that has nothing to offer me?

What does /asg/ think of my loadout? I wanted to look PMC-ish. Its for indoor CQB.

The helmet cover on my helmet isn't actually M81 woodland when I go on the field, I use a black one when I go to my indoor CQB field.

Its only on right now because I didn't feel like swapping it out as I have a ton of shit on it.

Everything I have is something I use in every game, except for the kick pouch and the tape which are easily removed. The helmet fits like a glove and MICHS aren't meant to be small. I have a FAST and prefer the MICH. The shemagh works fine, I've been shot multiple times in the mouth with up to 450fps and barely feel it, it's thickly wrapped in front of my mouth. The battle belt keeps all the shit off my PC which would just get in the way otherwise.

I was explaining why I use what I use. I don't need any of that at all except for the gun. Hell, I don't even need a gun, just a melee weapon if we're talking about actual bare bones airsoft. I have it because I use it often and it comes in handy. Agree with you on the E&L thing, but I'm happy with the performance of the gun.

As far as mouthpro goes, I have a Valken MI-7 mask and a lower half balaclava for that purpose. I've also considered running a football mouthpiece, but I've never been a fan of the plastic and mesh lower half masks. It's a woodsoft game so I'm not too worried about CQB encounters so I'm going to take my chances like I've had for half a decade.

As far as gloves go... They're just not comfy for me.

It's both the fact that they're made from some sort of "heavyweight plastic" (which is apparently some sort of plastic with metal filing in it or some shit), and that NBB revolvers are inherently cheap to make.
The ~$60 price hike (and the fact they only have the ABS grip model) hints that Marushin is only making them in limited quantities now, or trying to move old stock.

I have never been able to get a straight reply from any place that sells or sold them though, so who knows what's going on.

Who said I was playing sniper or sit around? Thats an non-sniper AEG and I just use that suit since it provides better camo than your standard camo uniform and its fairly cheap (around 40€ for the whole suit). Great for flanking maneuvers in the woods.
