Can someone please help me find a decent karate school in my area? Theyre all mcdojos, but i want to find one thats least mcdojo-y
I live in north shore long island and everything is shit. They use karate as a umbrella term for any martial art. One of the places is called "kwon's karate" and they claim they teach "korean karate"
>Long Island
Just go to the city.

Ive enjoyed karate for about 3 years and want to continue, but i realized after far too late it was a mcdojo and was just wasting my time. I also enjoy competing in karate, and qualified for nationals, but for some reason i was an idiot and didnt go, and i want to go this time.

>Qualify for nationals
you know your martial art is bullshit when...

This
Are you sure its the quality of your training is bad and maybe you just don't like the fact that kids are getting black belts? Cause that's pretty much all traditional schools in America. Doesn't always mean its terrible, especially if you made it to nationals

There's a Shotokan school when you search Long Island and apparently a Kyokushin school, though I don't see a lot about this place so don't know how recent this info is.
