>Bore Cold Steve Austin
>a draw
>>
>Addressing his box office drawing power, McMahon and former WWE executives Jim Ross and Paul Heyman have declared Austin to be the most profitable wrestler in the history of the organization. Ross asserted: "Nobody touches Austin... No-one generated more cash in the length of their WWE career". Industry veterans and multiple-time WWE Champions Ric Flair,John Cena and CM Punkhave each named Austin as the biggest star in WWE history, and, along with McMahon, have stressed that he surpassed the popularity of Hulk Hogan.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>STONE COLD
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>unironically implying he is more famous than the Hulkster
Hulk Hogan is literally the most famous wrestler worldwide that is know to EVERYONE,even people that have never seen an episode of RAW.
Stone cold is just a literally who thats only loved by neckbeard marks
>>
>>1502615
This, in my country (not the US), everybody knows Hogan, Cena, Taker and Dwayne (because of his acting), the rest is just known by fans.

No he's right, outside the US, Taker is one of the more known wrestlers.
>>
In my country even old people know hogan but Austin is a stranger.
>>
>>1502620
The most viewed wrestling videos on the internet have either him or Cena in it.

The draw was professional wrestling itself. In the mid 90s millions of people across America were starved of professional wrestling since Vince caused the extinction of the territories.

Wrestling began to languish in popular culture because it was locked away on cable television out of reach of much of its audience outside of cities and suburbs.

Then, a new innovation: Small Satellite Television Receivers

In the space of a mere 3 years Prime Star, DirecTV, and Dish Network sold millions and millions of satellite dishes and subscriptions to the South and the Midwest from 1995 to 1998.

These people would have watched just about any wrestling company. They just love wrestling. Stone Cold just happened to be the right guy at the right place. It could have just as easily have been one of a half dozen other guys of the same generation in his place.
>>
I remain unimpressed by wrestlers who became stars in the Attitude Era. Crowds were unironically popping for garbage like the Oddities and ICP back then.

You guys are saying a lot of random shit that isn't relevant here.
Yes, he was a draw. He was an insanely huge draw, one of the biggest ever if not the biggest. Doesn't matter why, or how, or when, or if it was only a couple years, or if the stars just happened to align. He was hotter than a hearth and over as fuck, and his shit sold faster than they could make it. Get over it.

Does anyone here watch his show? I think it's fucking great. It actually looks tough and they seem to only accept very muscular people who can't handle it half the time. It's my favorite thing to watch on tv besides WWE.
>>
>>1502559
*ahem*
OH HYEEELLL YEEEAAH
>>
>>1503082
Bowie wasn't even bigger than MJ in England.
>>
>>1502616
I would say that's mostly because of the fact that SCSA was on the top only for a short while.
>>
Reminder that Hogan was scared to job to Austin as it would have put Austin on top of him as the all time GOAT.

Giving the rub to the Rock was unimportant as he knew the Rock was never going to truly be an A+ talent to rival Hogan's own legacy in wrestling. The Rock was just the Roman Reigns of the Attitude era.
>>
>>1503201
ye always heard this, Austin was the only one who could rival Hogan so losing to him would be confirming Austin was a bigger star in Hogans mind
>>
>>1503201
>>1503218
Rock drew more than Austin ever did. WWF did its biggest ratings and sold out more arenas with Austin out and rock being the star.

Austin would probably get paralyzed if he wrestled some more.

is he the most over wrestler ever? If you made a top 50 loudest pop list Austin would have about 30 entries.
