I don't even like Wrestling but I fucking loved this game to death, the soundtrack was a pure 10/10 and I just remember using Hulk Hogan and Rey Mysterio. Fuck man the nostalgia just hit me.

This game literally got me into wrestling, my friend bought it on a whim because there's no wrestling in my country and we had so much fun with it that I started watching it.

I remember we buying the new installment every year and growing increasingly disappointed because every year the game became less fun.

Is this the one with GM mode? When I was a kid I'd play the shit out of these SvR games (and shut your mouth,) I think 2007 was the last one I got before I fell out of wrestling for a while.

Games are still pretty fun though, 2k16's a bit of a guilty pleasure. Still butthurt Nakamura is tied to the collector's edition of 2k17 though.

I know im missing some key games out but to me this is my top 3 wrestling games tied.
Smackdown here comes the pain
Smackdown vs Raw 2006 and 2007.
All the other games are meh or bad except the all rime great wrestling games im not mentioning.
But i pkayed the fuck out of all three and its the reason 16/17 year old me got back into wrestling.
I as a kid stopped watching in 2000. Repeatedly told its stupid and fake and i should stop watchibg it.
Fuck you i wont do what you tell me.
I could rant about those 3 games but i challenge anyone to deny their greatness.

I love SvR 2006 and 2007. They were a big part of my early teens. The soundtrack for 2007 in particular was excellent. Games were good too.

The games becoming less fighting games and more sports/simulationist has made it harder to casually play with friends or family

Don't know, I had one teaching match of 2K14 with my friend and he beat me clean the next one.

Controls are really not that hard. The hard part is all the small stuff you can do to win which is nice. I'd rather have that than punch grapple finisher gameplay for infinity.
