I'm considering buying a BTR from a Czech surplus guy for around 15 grand. I have the money to be able to do this. How likely would it be for me to get a belt fed tag launcher working and or make one that uses 5 round clips. I want to be able to say fuck you to HATO at a MSW event.

My problem that I have with the BTR part is not so much the shipping and handling cost which surprisingly isn't as bad as I thought it would. However the problem is I'm in the SE and if I ordered now it would get here til November. And anyone have any ideas on what to do to replace the 14.5mm with an anti tank/anti personel gun?

They're cool as hell but you're going to be spending at least half the price of that thing in maintenance, and then another half of that in tag rounds if you somehow manage to get a belt fed launcher working.
>>
>>1446263
It shouldn't be much in maintenance I have full access to a machine shop and garage because it's my business. Gas prices maybe, but I can fix just about anything if it's got a transmission and an engine.
>>

clip fed sounds better... tag round launchers fire from a closed bolt, right?

Tag launchers don't have a bolt at all. They sit in a tube and a striker hits the valve.
The hardest part would be finding a way to make it cycle reliably, open bolt or not.

How good of plastic is the receiver, is the stock really wobbly, how hard is it to fit an 11.1 in it, can you put mlok stuff on the rail, what mags are good for itand the biggest question I have: is it worth the price tag?
Sorry for all the questions, I just really wanna know about this gun
>>
>>1446562
It's as good as any other expensive polymer gun. Mate has been using one or the other of his in the woods for nigh on two years with no issues.

Stock is fine, I've never noticed wobble when I've borrowed one, and neither person ahs ever complained about it wobbling.

Battery compartment is very small, but you can buy extended versions, which my mate uses to hold an 11.4 lipo. He started out jsut jamming one in the stock and hoping for the best.

I don't know what mlok is, but they're bog standard rails, so probably.

Mags are up to you. My brother has that exact gun in desert, and it takes any mag he throws at it.

As for being worth it, well, if they weren't then our old site sales guy wouldn't sell his entire stock every weekend. The EFCS thing is cool, they're solid, they last a long time, but are any of our toys REALLY worth the money?
>>
>>1446430

This. Put/fabricate a KPV heat shield and muzzle device on a semi auto .50.

Don't make it an actual 14.5 because then you have to deal with it being a destructive device, which means a bunch of paperwork and potential denial if you move it out of your state.

They mocked an M2 up as a KPV for The Jackal, it'd would be even easier for you considering only the barrel would be visible.

As well as I'm thinking about taking out the deactivated 14.5 yet use the fucking external components to make a gun that shoots the TAG rounds with HPA perhaps like an Air cannon. I'm also thinking about rifling a 14.5mm cannon length barrel for it that is chamber to fit the TAG rounds. I'm planning on instead of using those measley Green gas shells just go fill fuckitol mode and hook it up to a scuba tank. Single shot and each shell as to be manually loaded. This will allow me to have triple or quadruple the range of a standard TAG shell and be able to efficiently take out vehicles.
>Coaxial PKT
I'm going fuckitol going on AoG and see if I can find a speedsofters tier Polarstar or Wolverine HPA system in an M4. Have a ridiculous rate of fire on it. I'll throw on some externals that make it look like a PKT and maybe put a tracer unit on it. I'll just use some M4 auto winding drum mags. Easy mag changes maximum BB spitting. I'm rocking a bit of a semi right now.
>>
>>1446836
The guy who runs airsoftstore.ca is pretty well know and lives in Toronto if you want something local, he will do custom builds
>>
>>1447181
Trick to blank fire at MSW is to have good blanks + BFA that produces massive muzzle flashes during the day time, and then make it 100% obvious without a doubt that you are shooting at specific people

It typically means standing in the open, directly pointing and shooting at people, firing blanks, while outside of BB range. That is the most success I've had with blank fire.
>>
>>1447210
Here's the thing about this. I want them to visually see that there are rounds coming in. With the air cannon TAG launcher they'll no immediately. With a mixture of chalk and explosive rounds, refs will be able to call hits on HATO vehicles easily.

Out of the box I recommend the following. I'd give the gun a 6.5/10 out of the box. After some minior cosmetic and internal improvements, 8.5/10

1. Make sure all wiring is firmly in place.
>my negative motor wire came off under fire my first time using it.

2.clean all the factory grease out of it
>the stock lube job is beyond horrible
>I recommend 5000 weight RC car diff oil for replacement lube

3. Put a weaker spring in it
>mine came shooting 450 out of the box. Is fine like that if you want it, but a weaker spring will offer a higher rate of fire and overall smoother working

4. Use an RC car 7.4 lipo for most realistic results.
>shoots 660 rpm on a 7.4v with an m120 shs spring. (11.1 in this case does about 20 a second with same spring)

5. Remove the rate or fire adjuster thing
>it's not that useful. It can cause more problems than it's worth.
>>

I've given it some though and I actually work for a site owner in the running of his games. It's not so hard. First you need to get established as someone within the community, this isn't necessary but it does help when it comes to getting things moving. Second, hunt out abandoned land and buildings, research the owners and work out how to speak to them. Then you need to accept that everything is temporary, most site owners in the UK don't own the land they play on. You have to accept that all the land you're likely to find will be earmarked for development, you may, if you're lucky be able to lease the land to get your games off to a start, but you have to remember that wether it's after 6 months or 20 years, the land owner can and will kick you off when they are going to put up that shitty new housing estate. Then you need council approval, this is just planning permission and provided you are clever you can sneak it through without too much local protest. Then the easy bit, Google Airsoft site insurance, look up providers, sift through the fine print to allow you to have the most fun (Pyro friendly etc) and then pay for it, Insurance is normally paid for a year in advance and on a rolling contract, some providers are willing to negotiate monthly payments though. Finally you'll need customers, no point in setting up a site down the road from say UCAP The Sandpit, no one will go. You need to be far enough away from another site to attract a few people who will give it a go because of the proximity. After a few players come, and if they enjoy it you'll have a customer base that hopefully expands ad infinitium.

PS: It doesn't hurt to inform your local police that you will be running airsoft games on the land. It will stop you getting a few awkward interviews.

I would also suggest doing a bit of research into the sites near where you aim for. Setting up a woodland site near three others will not work out.

Age range for players is also something to think about, as a bigger age range allows for more custom. However there is the risk of people getting fed up with kids, plus there is always the risk of some parents treating the site like a childminders.

Nah, not a split gearbox, just a gearbox that you can take the spring out of without disassembling the entire gearbox. Usually this is done by pressing in the back of the spring guide and twisting.
>>
I got my Well Vz Scorpion today. Other than the plastic drum magazine being shoddy and the BB follower spring liking to poke out of the low-cap magazine it seems pretty solid. Might use it as a back-up if I find a holster for it.

Newfag here. Wanted a cheap holster for my sidearm, so I got a Fox Outdoor shoulder rig at my local army/navy store. Sits nicely, but it's got these weird straps with velcro on them hanging off the bottom, one from the holster and one from the mag pouches. Ayyy asg I have an issue with my g3A3, I bought it second hand and it looks like it has seen some use and im not really readin on airsoft issues.
I cant get the fucker to work in semi auto it all ways acts like an auto on every trigger pull no matter the sellector settings. The tech at my club who seems to think he is gods gift to airsoft had a loik and told me it was the cutoff lever. But hedonr have time for about 2-3 weeks to have a look at it.
I replaced the cutoff but can't see any difference between the one I pulled out and the replacment. You fags have any idea on the issue? The screw that holds the triggger mech in place is protruding and hitting the sliding plate on the back of the gearbox should I file it flat?

The yellow plate is the selector plate and it seems to be broken from the top and also missing a spring. When you push the yellow plate all the way forward, it should push that black lever there to put the gun on safe. Then when you pull it back certain amount It will shoot semi and when you pull it more backwards it will shoot full auto.
>>
>>1448085
I don't know about that. My own experience has been more the opposite, the kiddies calling their hits and the super tryhard "adult" players ignoring shots from point-blank.

Cheating tends to spread from one or two bad players as everyone sees them not calling hits and thinks "Well if those guys can cheat and get away with it, then so can I." I think a better solution is that fields should be more willing to ban bad players regardless of age and enforce those bans.
>>
>>1455483
>the kiddies calling their hits and the super tryhard "adult" players ignoring shots from point-blank.
So is every adult a tryhard? In my experience 50% of kids don't call their hits in comparison to about 10% for adults.

>>
>>1455543
>So is every adult a tryhard?
Not what I meant. In my experience cheating starts with one or two bad adult players and spreads to the kids. Which goes back to my opinion that fields should be willing to kick players off for cheating. My local field has gotten worse and worse about that and so we've seen an increase in cheating as a result.
>>
>>1455483
>"adult" players ignoring shots from point blank
Oh god I suffered this last week. No more than 1m away from a door a 40+ guy carelessly walks in and I shot him. Doesn't claim hit but I keep playing assuming he didn't claim hit because it I didn't need the sound cue due to how obvious the hit was. No more than 3 step and he says "you know you didn't hit me right?".
Tryhards by themselves are bad but if they are in a group the game is on a one way trip to Fuckedupistan for the day in different kind of ways.

yeah GHK. personally I'm much more interested in performance than a full bolt travel. not like you notice while shooting it anyway. you can modify it, but you increase the likelihood of a failure if you do so. gun is really solid but there are a few failings. the folding stock and fire selector pretty much instantly scratch the paint for example (mine came prescratched actually along the travel, not sure if from evike or GHK) and the rear site can't actually raise like it can irl. the pistol grip is shit plastic that i'll be replacing with wood asap, and the magazines are finicky as shit to load with bbs and also to load into the gun. but holy shit is this thing fun to shoot and just completely solid.
>>
>>1456542
The fire selector scratch is on nearly every AK real or fake since the selector is held in place by tension against the receiver.

Are western arms guns any good? I just bought an M1911 like this
>>
>>1459296
they were the gold standard ~10 years ago. i dunno if people just quit buying them because of price or because people want metal guns these days.

Where were you when you realized the airsoft community is 99% shit?
>>
>>1456769
I'm not. So far I only used it with a basr so I didn't really need to protect it.

>>1456710
By that logic of yours everyone not running a walmart replica is a richie rich fag.

>>1456753
It's simply awesome. It kind of trivialized a huge part of the night game I played with it so far because I used it to defend a constant objective with two other guys instead of the 7-8 guys that normally takes due to how easy it was for me to see them and either hit them myself or relay their positions to my teammates.

Sup /asp/

So i went to sell all my webbing etc since i left the army like 6 years ago and all it does is take up space.
Instead what happened is the super friendly store owner convinced me to come play "survival game" which i googled and its basically airsoft i think

I have never played before so i have a few questions.

Generally speaking what is the crowd like?
How important is communication? Is it super organized or a bunch of people in the woods shooting each-other randomly? What's a match like in general?

And lastly, any of you living in kyushu by chance?
>>
>>1460159
All of this varies by site, by area, and by day.

Communication wins games though.
>>
>>1460159
airsoft in japan is legit, you should totally get into that scene. dunno about 'survival game' though.

Yesterday at the field a guy who hadn't played in years was there with some of his old guns from the before times. This was one of them, the MP5zon, which was basically just an MP5 butwith an 11.1v 3000mAh LiPo wired up front. I thought it fit this threads theme quite well.

Oh god it's summer again.
>>
>>1446413
I had one for two years and loved it. The only problem I had was battery space. All you can fit is a brick lipo and that's about it. Otherwise it's a nice gun. Shoots straight, fast rof, very compact, you get the picture.
>>

The combat machine is always a good beginner gun and if you want something good to start with go with that if you want an M4.

If you want an AK go for a CYMA as long as its designated as cm.040.

Pic related my CYMA. Made from some great solid metal and the polymer on the handguard is great.

My WE M&P works as a beater, and I've done little maintenance on it in the two years I've had it, only lubing it occasionally.

>>
>>1463298

You could get a silencer, maybe that would lower the report enough.
>>
>>1463306
You'd think that AR fans would love unique older designs but everything is futuristic or frankenlites. A stamped receiver AR-18 AEG would be glorious.
>>
>>1464774
Unless you want your dog shot I'd recommend not making a legit silencer.
>>
>>1463306
It won't
>>
>>1465438

>>
>>1465478

You can legally own a silencer in most states.

http://americansuppressorassociation.com/wp_asa/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/asa_edu_map_0616161.jpg
>>
>>1465716
Yeah no totally, spending 300+ dollars and waiting time on an NFA item so you can shoot your BB gat indoors is a good idea.

S u p e r g o o d
>>
>>1465478
the shitty mock silencers with a roll of foam in them still do something even if it isnt that much. on a gbbr its probably completely negligible as the gas noise is fully heard through the bolt cycling and the clatter of metal is probably not really mostly heard through the barrel anyway
>>
>>1465478
>silencer on an airsoft gun = atf shoots your dog

if that were true, people who have suppressors on their air rifles would have their doors knocked down daily
>>
>>1463306
>>1465598
All I want is a GBB LMG that doesn't run on HPA other than the GHK RPK.
>>
>>1466268
There's some funky legalities about that.
If you look at the Gamo Whisper, it has a silencer, but it's permanently fixed to the muzzle, and made in such a way that it'll break into pieces if you try to take it off
>>
>>1466268
If it can be used on a real gun then yes your dog will be shot.
>>
>>1466295
a metal tube and foam is good for airsoft and won't work on a real firearm
>>
>>1466339
or plastic tube if you want to extra careful
>>
>>1463306
By AR-10, I'll take it that you mean the original Armalite and not the later AR-10 sporting rifle design.
>>
Probably gonna get a used marui MC51 soon. Its gonna be my first marui AEG. What are some recommended internal parts I should switch out? Are the gears for example weak plastic etc. or should I just trust marui engineers folded one mirrion times?
>>
>>1463306
The sr25 is based off at ar10 body, you might be able to nigrig something with that depending on what you want

What will happen if the battery gets shot and damage by BBs?
I want to know every safety issue about Li-Po.
>>
>>1467208
Li-po can and will blow up and kill you and your family. In fact, there have been several terrorist attacks involving li-pos.

What's the best Springer Revolvers?
>>
>>1467242

>>
>>1467242
There are two good springers. Ubiquitous trishot TM clones, and the TM vsr10. Everything else a shit.
>>
>>1467208
These days, as long as you charge your lipo battery on a lipo charger there really are no safety issues.
