Frankly, I think Cesaro should be the next big push. Ideally, it'd be another John Cena, that is, someone who started in WWE, but that's becoming rarer.

Cena, while it was obvious from his debut they hoped he'd be THE guy, was still a slow build.

His intro made him look strong, while not hurting Angle and even had the Taker congratulations but that wasn't the guy that got over. They never really tried to force THE PROTOTYPE down our throats.

He happened to get overheard rapping on a bus ride and was given the chance to run with it. He got it over and then slowly evolved it into what it is today. You can say what you want about the fact that it quit evolving and stayed the same for a decade, but it was still a slow build getting there.

They don't do that now. They find what they want, mold it into shape, and parade it around in hopes that people respond and so far it hasn't happened. If its never allowed to happen organically again, Cena will truly be the last real megastar and draw the business ever gets.

John Cena got over organically and THEN was megapushed. And he is the last guy to come up from a time when wrestlers had more freedom over their characters / getting themselves over. He came up with all that rap shit himself, no one was writing for him. It's almost impossible to get over organically now because if a wrestler starts to and it wasn't in the script, he's punished for it.
