SMUG SQUAD IS GOING TO MILSIM WEST'S THE CASPIAN GAP. JOIN YOUR FELLOW /ASP/IE FAGGOTS ON THE COSSACK TEAM AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!

The event will be held OCTOBER 21-23 IN PERRY, GEORGIA AT THE GUARDIAN CENTER, the same AO that American Milsim held Op Ironhorse back in February. Required atire is a tracksuit jacket, preferably of Adidas make or other cheap knockoff. Track pants are optional, but recommended. Otherwise, Russian or OD bottoms are acceptable as well. There will be a group buy for Mockba sneakers and any other Russian gear needed in August.

The goal is to be there and sorted before noon on the 21st to make ample time for final checks and go on last second store runs. So far there are two planned carpools: one coming from New England and the other coming from Chicago. The Chicago carpool will be able to pick up anyone landing at the Atlanta airport with some modest contribution to gas and rental.

IF YOU WANT IN ON EITHER OF THOSE, OR THE EVENT IN GENERAL, JOIN THE /ASG/ SKYPE GROUP:

Guy at local field up north attempts to be total chad to little kids and scares them away from the game. He also rips off kids and ignorant adults, but not me.
>Be me
>Be a year ago
>Beginning to tech and start to understand engineering school
>Drive to local field north of me
>We get there and it's hot but no complaints
>Normal day with fat people in tactical bikinis and little kids running around alike
>my kit isn't the best looking but it does it's job well
>my friend that I normally see is there
>my gun was being weird that day so friend let's me borrow his fnx-45
>Local field Chad comes over and offers trade for pistol of one boneyard KWA SR7 with real steel rail system and an LCT Rpk that was too boneyard along with a pick from the box!
>friend decides to do it
>friend gives me guns and says I could fix them if I tried
>Chad laughs and says good luck
>I plug in the small type tamiya connector that was disconnected on both guns
>Chad looks puzzled
>I take guns to shooting range and show friend that they work
>Chad is furious and demands money back
>I go to owner and say guy is getting mad at my friend
>owner comes over and yells at Chad (turns out he is an employee)
>friend gives me SR7 with rail and says thanks for fixing it and defending him
>turns out my friend was gay and was coming on to me
Chad almost got fired, I got a gun, all is well.
I saw Chad at a Milsim a couples weeks ago and he was wearing AOR 2 bdu with AOR 1 gear.

>Who at your field is totally making up for something and with what?

Hmm h'were ta begin with this shit?
My local field is plagued by a high level asshole gorilla I like to call king kang (pic related), or as a guy a couple threads ago called him, "fatty mcfuckshit." He 'runs' a team, that's known for having cheaters (including himself), like a fucking biker gang. This cunt is under the impression that he works at the field when in reality he just brown noses with the owner and 'helps out' by showing up late selling his shit 'dogs of war' and then leaving early. There have been multiple accounts of him being shitty as in ordering kids around like he's a field ref (which he isn't by a long shot), changing the rules of the field to suit his biker gang of a team, or just leaving garbage all over the place when he uses the field to practice. To make a long story short he's a dickhead that's long overstayed his welcome, and that's not even mentioning how he shat up the CQB field to point of almost being dead. I honestly don't know how the owner has put up with him for so long, if it was me I would've b& his fat monkey ass long ago.

That may not have answered OPs question precisely but I've just had a shitty week and I just needed to do some good old fashioned shit posting.

Kinda on thread topic, but GMR comes to my field every few weeks (I live in New England), and they fag up the place. They think they run shit, they break field rules, they act like absolute cockthistles, and they take it wayyyy too seriously. Overall, they just make the game unenjoyable no matter which team you're on. Well, that's my little rant.

So I bought a gun recently and I'm curious if you can have your gun exposed while walking from your car to the entrance or does it need to be boxed?
>>
>>1412199
I would highly recommend the latter. Even better, get a gun bag. If you don't, you're liable to get shot by the cops if they see you, especially if you're not white.
>>
>>1412199
Get a rifle bag or case, they're like $50 for a basic hard shell and will save you a lot of trouble. I don't know about other countries, but it's a good idea to keep even replicas in a case; hell there are probably some state and city laws that require them.
>>
>>1412207
>>1412210

Temporarily, because it WILL disintegrate eventually. Buy a case or other gun bag ASAP.

Cool I will.
>>
>>1412218
I don't see why not as a temporary stand-in. I did that with my WE M14 for a bit until I got a real case since it was just a long cardboard box with a sticker that said something like "WE-TECH MA14".
Like the other anon said though, it will fall apart.

There's this fat dude at my field who claims he's some sort of police officer. He's never very specific about how but supposedly his plate carrier has "saved his life" a few times. His Sig226 is also the best and just like the real thing so he knows it better than anyone there. The icing on the cake was the badge he used to flash at the field. He was talking with a referee and telling him about the badge when he dropped it on the ground. The ref picked it up for him and the thing broke in half in his hands.

WE is ok, though there's nicer brands obviously.

Be wary that the bolt-stop and magazine release can be a bit rough and require a slight bit of elbow grease early on, but it should smooth out and you'll get used to it in time.

Will switching from Tamiya to Deans increase my trigger response?
>>
>>1414805
A little bit, but it more or less increases the efficiency of the battery when coupled with lower resistance wiring.
If you want good trigger response, you'll need a MOSFET, 11.1v, new trigger contacts, a new motor, new gears, piston, and the GB will need new bearings and to be re-shimmed.
>>

what about a mosfet, high torque motor and 11.1v lipo?

How is playing as a DMR in a milsim? Particularly MSW?

Ive been thinking about it, but that MED and relying on a pistol for indoors and <100ft fighting Im not too keen on. Anyone have experience? Is it worth trying out?
>>
>>1414957
Second hand Marui, or a Well R1. Take your pic.

>>1414960
DMR in MSW means you're going to be stuck doing RECCE; aka sitting in a bush with a radio for the whole three days and never engaging anything.
>>
>>1414979
>DMR in MSW means you're going to be stuck doing RECCE

I thought this were the sniper teams, and each nine man element had a DMR to aid in combat?
>>
>>1414805
Deans connector allows more current to pass with less resistance. Tamiyas are decent only up to 10A, so basicly only for stock Maruis. Most guns draw something like 15-25A. Some guns might draw more depending on how it's built. Battery, motor and gears affect the trigger response the most. Mosfet, wires and connectors are basicly just the requirements for you to use high voltage and discharge batteries with high stress gearbox. If you have bad wires and connectors with high resistance, they will obviously restrict the current and heat up a lot. If you don't have a mosfet, your trigger contacts will burn.
>>
>>1414982
I might be getting it mixed up.

So I'm not sure what I should go with here, I'm looking at a few GBB pistols

KJ Works CZ-75:
>all metal
>double action
>cool oldschool look with a spur hammer and all
>fixed sights

But:
>I'm green and I know nothing about KJ's quality
>the slide looks like it has little gripping area

Then I've been looking at a VFC FNX-45
>looks like it's really high quality
>high capacity (or, at least I figure, based on the real one)
>double action

But:
>tall sights, and I don't know where I can find normal ones, real ones would likely be expensive
>I don't know if I'll actually like the grip, I've heard it has an aggressive texture
>fair bit more expensive (I could afford it, but I wouldn't want to invest a lot in something I don't know I will like)

WE Hi-Power
>always kinda liked the Hi-Power
>I know WE is decent for it's price
>grip is cut for a theoretical shoulder stock

But:
>single action
>large adjustable ladder sight
>magazine disconnect
>I wouldn't know any place to actually source that shoulder stock/holster, at least not one that would be cheap

I see, is the trigger group a hassle to take apart and put together in case I need to replace a spring?

I took apart my Beretta and never got it back together again, it's in parts in a box and I hope I can find someone who can put it back together again for me some day.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this one spring will break again though, so then I have to go find him again when that happens, not an appealing prospect.

Basically does it feature a DA trigger that's simpler than a Beretta kind is what I'm asking

>No Hop-up, so I would avoid.
That's... that's fucking farcical, particularly that it features the cut in the grip for a (theoretical stock), and the adjustable sight, I knew it was suspiciously cheap!
>>
>>1418120
As the other anon said, avoid the hi power. The FNX is a solid choice, and comfortable for it's size, but only if you're willing to pay. Since it's VFC, it's EXPENSIVE and with how big and heavy the gun is, you'll want a high-quality hard holster.

That brings you back the the CZ-75, which is a gun I own. as my primary sidearm, I really like the ergonomics. It's a very comfortable pistol. Material and finish quality is pretty damn good too. What's not so great, however is that the trigger unit is very sensitive to fouling and will break beyond repair if it gets gunked up. If you keep it clean and lubed though, it's got probably the nicest trigger out there. Finally, since the gun is so thin, you need a purpose-made hard holster for it, and the only cheap one of those is a Safariland OWB holster. Overall I really like the pistol, but it has it's quirks too.

To what degree? I don't play milsim or skirmish or anything, I only ever bring them out every now and then to fire a few magazines (I go through a tube of green gas in roughly a year), then sort of fingerfuck them the rest of the year for the most of it.
>>
>>1418569
Wait, you're just a back yard plinker? Yeah, then you'll be fine. Get red gas for the CZ-75. The springs are pretty stiff and sturdy, so it works better under greater pressure. The thing was designed for its CO2 mags for cry'n out loud.
>>
>>1418593
In what way will it run better?
If I use green gas will it 'short-stroke' or what?
>>

Yeah, in my experience, KJW mags are slow to fill anyway, but green gas won't have great efficiency in the CZ that red gas will.

>>1422677

>>
>>1422622
The m60s from them are ass. They have feeding issues like no tomorrow, and the tab the box mag goes on is ass. Other than that, they're ok.

The a&k saw is kinda shit. But workable

AGM mg42 has electrical problems, and a small magazine.

Keep in mind, if you're using the boxmag with those, the feeding tube is on the outside of the gun. So if you play in the rain, or a sandy environment your gun might get fucked up.

The pkm feeds from the steel box mag and it feeds directly into the gun, so that's awesome, but... The gun is fuck all uncomfortable to hold and use.

Keep in mind as well, the only one that's really safe to use an 11.1 in is the m249, because it runs off a separate battery and you won't kill that motor with the high voltage of the 11.1.

I'm thinking about just getting the JG one and dropping in a new gearbox, replacing the flash hider with a proper FAL flash hider than replacing the railed dust cover with a smooth one. Internal wise I'll throw in a new bucking and hop up maybe some maple leaf shit. Throw in a tightbore, new M120 spring and high torque motor from my busted CM16 (wires in stock melted connectors) and put on some Dean's connectors. Sure it's not a full length FAL but it will do. Also I've got a spare AK-74 with some wood furniture I could use just for shits and giggles but the FAL with Rhodie baby shit paint is what I love about the kit.

Most people who play airsoft can't afford to laugh at anyone.
>>
>>1428151
I started at 26, it isn't too late for you.

I'd go to a field on a open play/walk on day and rent equipment. That way you can see if you like it before you sink money into it. Granted, the gun/mask won't be the best thing out there, but it'll get your feet wet.

Once you decide you like it, look into buying a gun of your own and goggles/mask and gear

Yeah, I run a Haley Strategic D3 rig like >>1428344. I run 6+1 mags plus a radio for milsims (plus 2+1 pistol mag) and 4+1 mags (1+1 pistol) for open plays. I can carry up to 8+2 if I wanted though. I really will have to say that the magazine inserts are an absolute necessity since you don't have to worry about retention for two magazines or end up with the mags stretching the material.

But I'm pretty damn happy with it. It's light, comfortable, plenty of expansion potential, and gets the damn job done with zero frills. Get MBC or real HSP like I did, it's up to you, but it's the best rig I've been able to figure out.

>>1429421
Two cells. Fucking phone.
>>
>>1428927
Because the AGM Stg-44 has a plastic hop-up unit and apparently it will break on you.
>>
>>1429421
The individual cells only go up to 4,2v. They should be balanced pretty close to one another for best performance. If one cell goes empty faster than the others, you'll obviously face problems. It most likely won't explode, but it's definitely not as good as new anymore. If it's puffy as fuck, I'd throw it away.
>>
>>1429478
I have only once in my lifetime broken a hop up unit and that was completely due to my own stupidity. I seriously doubt yours will break unless you're as stupid as I was and break it yourself. Just because it's plastic doesn't mean it's going to break. I'd worry more about your piston, which is also plastic and actually a rapidly moving part that does wear and tear over time.
>>
>>1429498
I was watching Neo035's review on it and he warned that it will break sooner or later due to the design of the magazine, and I found a cheap-ish metal hop unit so I decided I might as well.
>>
>>1429481
Right. I read and/or remembered that wrong. Ill check it again when I get home. Its definitely not puffy though. That was the first thing I checked. Also what other problems?
>>
>>1429504
I've never owned Stg44, but after watching the review, I still doubt its going to break unless you smash the mags in an angle. If you already have the chamber, you might as well change it though. To answer your original question, yea you need to recycle the bucking too. It's really important part.
>>
>>1429518
You shouldn't let any of the cells run too low. Even if the total voltage is at safe levels, you can still kill the battery if one of the cells drains significantly faster than the other ones.

>A prometheus barrel? No reason to get that when the barrel that came with the replica simply works!
>R-hop? Magnus effect happens with my stock bucking and nub, silly
There's no reason other than money to not change your stock internals for stuff that increases the replica's performance. People running stock replicas are poorfags 90% of the time (which is also why they tend to run cheap shit replicas too) and the 10% left are a mix of people that simply don't care that much about airsoft, people that run rental or people that are testing stock performance.
Also, the "it must be better because X reason" argument is flawed for the simple reason than even the most retarded idiot would go back to stock if after installing something new (piston in your example) the performance decreased.
>>
>>1430117
I think a lot more people than you are asserting are just lazy or content and don't want to deal with taking their stuff apart and putting it back together if it's already good enough for their tastes.

But the nigger was implying there's no reason to buy a lipo unless you're a poorfag; I just gave him a perfectly valid reason as to why not waste your money.
>>
>>1430319
It's a perfectly valid reason if you actually believe that LiPo and NiMh are identical by conveniently ignoring that they actually aren't.
Good luck making a top tier AEG work properly, work for more than a a bunch of minutes or work at all with a NiMh battery.

Actually, you are right but at the same time you are proving my point further. There's no reason to buy a LiPo since poorfags' replicas don't need one to work correctly to begin with.
>>
>>1430360
>"I only use top tier AEGs"
Do you also post pictures of your parent's fraudulent assets on instagram?
Also you're right, LiPos and NiMh aren't identical. You don't need a fucking fireproof bag to carry your NiMh batteries safely.
>>
>>1430271
So that fact that they last longer, are smaller for the mah and voltage, and discharge more constantly are bad things?
>>
>>1430269

No, but they're inconsequential during your average game, and for your average gun, at least the kind we have here. Of course if your gun can only fit LiPos it's a different matter entirely.

Perhaps it's not a fallacy if you mistreat the battery to the point that it becomes an actual hazard but this applies to NiMh batteries as well so yeah. I've never used a fireproof bag and I've had zero battery-related problems but maybe that's because I'm not uneducated about how I'm supposed to treat my batteries to begin with.
Seriously, avoid getting involved in conversations if all you got is random 'witty' (?) remarks, half-assed greentexts and "what if" fallacious implications.

Reason is simple, "something better to start with" the vast majority of the time means "greatly overpriced yet only slightly better". Buying aftermarket parts and upgrading your bbgat yourself can and will get expensive but it's relatively cheap compared to the retardedly high pricetag "better" guns have.
>if the gun performs satisfactory, why should someone throw parts away that would last years anyway?
No one said that anyone should throw parts away only that there's no reason to not upgrade your internals except you don't have the dosh for it or you don't care that much about airsoft to throw extra money on it.
Whoever throws parts away is utterly retarded because you don't know when you will need the part to quickfix something. Literally yesterday I had to install an old nozzle and tappet plate because the tappet broke and the nozze wobbled and failed to feed once every 4-5bbs.

So, master of upgrading. What should I do to my bone stock TM M14, and why?

Or my downgraded kalash AK?
>>
>>1430809
>master of upgrading
What I'm talking about is common knowledge and every guy out there and his mother knows how to upgrade internals nowadays. You people act like buying fitting parts and installing them is rocket science or some shit.

Anyways, I know next to nothing about the v7 gearbox since the only DMR I own is a SR25 so I can't really help you on that one. I think polarstar has a drop in system that works with the M14 model replicas so there's that.
>>
>>1430763
So I have an a&k pkm that am generally happy with. I use an RC car brick 7.4 lipo, and the gun chugs at about 660 rounds a min at 390-400 fps. I am generally satisfied with this. What should I upgrade to get a higher rate of fire keeping the same spring a battery?
>>
>>1430831
It's such common knowledge that your advice is literally 'drop a stupid amount of money on a polarstar'? really?
>>
>>1430841
He seems pretty high level.
>>
>>1430841
To be fair there's nothing better than dropping a HPA system of choice at this point. It's reliable, silent, not that much more expensive compared to getting all the good aftermarket parts for full gearbox functionality and also convenient due to not having to deal with gearbox internal fixes and mods/tweaking.
>>
>>1430872
It's the price of the gun. I'm not buying the fucking gun twice.
>>
>>1430882
Should have bought a Cyma m14 then.

You are literally proving his point with this last post by the way.

Fuck brands that feel the need to be proprietary. Everything should just be the exact same dimensions.
>>
>>1430885
Gun works perfectly. He's saying to spend the same money again on an HPA setup. Not saying why that's actually a good thing in any way mind, just saying to spend a shitload of money on something I don't want.

So. Master of upgrading. I will ask you again. What should I do to my bone stock marui m14 to actually improve it?
>>
>>1430885
Buying a polarstar isn't upgrading internals, thats literally a complete overhaul of the gun fundamentally changing it from AEG to HPA. It requires extra equipment and potential modifications to the externals of the gun. I have no problem buying into the whole get a prowin and buy better gears and springs bandwagon but buying a polarstar is literally a whole new gun since you could drop it into a fucking nerf gun shell if you felt like it.
>>
>>1430840
Frankentorque and DSG if you know how to shim properly, otherwise 10:1 gears. Low res wires and get rid of that tamiya shit for deans. Full steel teeth piston and a mosfet too.
>>
>>1430893
>Gun works perfectly.
So does the Cyma.
What I mean with "you are proving his point" is the fact that you bought a overly expensive M14 that costed you more than the Cyma one and you'll end up using the same upgrade parts, efectivelly making your m14 more expensive for the same final performance.

Those upgrade parts being...?

because I see no reason to change a damn thing.

You are expecting an answer from the wrong guy and without providing the proper information to receive the answer to begin with.
If you are trying to prove him wrong or something like that at least have the decency of trying a little bit harder like this guy did >>1430840 by giving specifics of what he has and what he wants. Right now your question is only begging for a "get better parts :^)" response. That's what I would say anyways since you are so ambiguous with your question.

And for the record
>I see no reason to change a damn thing
The entire discussion that's been going on for hours already wasn't about "seeing a reason to change something" but about changing it because you can. It's like some of you step in the thread, jump to the last post and butt in conversation without checking what's actually going on, seriously.

Jesus Christ you bitched about speed soft

DSG is by far the best option for high RoF which is exactly what you asked for. And even then I gave you the second best option out there.
If all wire has almost no resistance and you use a lower res wire what you get? Even lower resistance.
I didn't know the that sepcific RPK comes with a mosfet sue me.
If you want yourl teeth to wear and tear in weeks that's up to you.

All in all, nice wall of greentext with literally no real counter-arguments against anything I addressed in the post.

protip: I'm not the guy you were arguing with so you can stop pretending like what I said in my post is wrong because it simply isn't. I understand that you can't admit he's right even if he's actually right but I'm not him so just chill.

Higher rate of fire doesn't mean blistering. I should have said "slightly" so that is on me. You think I don't know what I'm doing. I know I can change to a better motor or a different set of gears.

When you put something to a meter, and you get say 0.4 ohms, changing it to 0.33 ohms isn't much of a difference in a case like this. Ask a guy that did electroinc shit for 4 years anything.

I've ran Chinese guns for years on stock pistons. Having a few metal teeth on a piston is fine, but having a full metal rack is retaeded.
>>
>>1431124
>Having a few metal teeth on a piston is fine, but having a full metal rack is retaeded.
It definitely isn't. Much less in this supposed RKP build but I can agree that you could live with a half-steel teeth without any trouble.
>You think I don't know what I'm doing. I know I can change to a better motor or a different set of gears.
I don't think anything. You said you wanted a higher rof without touching the battery and spring and I gave you an answer. I don't know what did you expect, honestly.
