The weigh in portion from this week was pretty neat with one dude just barely making the cut. Aside from him, a lot of them were really under thw 205lb weight limit, so wondering if there were a few others who had to try to slim down for the tournament.

I don't get this, so it's like a tournament for cruiserweights from all over.. How will they book it? Why would some of the guys want to do it if they're just going to job in the first round and make them look shit when no one knows them anyway.. Seems odd having a tournament with non wwe talents on a wwe stage imo, just cause of the booking part. If you know what I mean

It is basically a showcase and/or high-level tryout for a lot of these guys. This kind of exposure will benefit them, not just in regards to the WWE. Some of them are actual literal whos, so getting offers from any of the "minor" promotions like ROH, TNA, etc, is good in their heads.

Guys like Tajiri, Kendrick, etc, are thrown in to help sell the whole thing; adding in "stars" on top of the unknowns. The benefit for them may not be as substantial, but could be helpful to remind WWE viewers on who they are.

Kind hope it's not a single match elimination bracket. I wouldn't mind if they did it like Euro 2016 and had them get points based on wins and such, then have them enter the brackets.
