They're clearly trying to make him into another Cena. Cena is famous for being the 'controversial' one that had a split crowd reaction. Maybe they think if the boos are heard then their sheeple/kiddie fans in attendance will try to drown it out with cheers, resulting in an overall loud reaction that makes Roman and the overall program more interesting and exciting
