Where do I begin with this? So many great things can be achieved with social media and things like Twitter @ Ryback22, Instagram @TheBigGuyRyback22, Facebook, Tumblir @TheBigGuyRyback22 and many other online outlets. They allow us to stay in contact with family and friends that we might have otherwise lost contact with as time and distance along with today’s high paced world seems to do that to us. It allows us to promote good causes and raise awareness at a rate never before possible and has even created new jobs and opportunities for entrepreneurs to have a shot of living their dreams and passions out.
Somewhere along the way though this amazing technology opened the flood gates for a certain group of individuals who have let negativity consume them as this group of individuals (which seems to grow by the day) to use social media in a negative fashion. In the real world we can for the most part control who we surround ourselves with and I am a huge advocate that we are who we surround ourselves with. Very rarely would you see goal driven, smart, family oriented individuals constantly surrounding themselves with people who aren’t as like minded as them. This isn’t to say you won’t or don’t have friends who are very different than you, but that typically we enjoy being around people who share similar interests as us and don’t necessarily bring us down or insult us constantly for no reason.

Or if you have access to hiring a social media manager they can go into your account at random times of the day and filter out all the garbage so you don’t have to encounter it at all. For me personally I have made the decision to use social media as I find it very important in many regards, but I have stopped looking at any and all comments. It truly isn’t worth my time and while I appreciate all the great support and love on there I already know who and what I am as a man and a human being and don’t need to see this reinforcement from people whom I don’t know and whom truly don’t know me. Give it a try you will find you make much better use of your free time!

Another thing with social media is a lot of us have allowed it to consume our lives. I myself am guilty of it as well as I seem to always have my phone on me or by me. It has taken away from a lot of us truly living life in real life. If I didn’t think social media was so valuable for certain aspects of my life and brand and what I am trying to achieve at a world level I would have deleted all of it years ago! There is so much more pleasure to be gained in my opinion from living real life and not living life through our phones or computers 24/7. Now balance is another thing and having control of when and how we use social media is one thing, but for many I have seen it totally consume their lives. For example when people go out and eat and you see a family of four all on their phones before they even look at the menus it just feels wrong. That is why for me I have gotten in the habit of going periods of time multiple times a day of not using my phone outside of calls or texts with family or friends. I always try to read for 20-30 min a day and listen to audio books for 2-3 hours a day when driving if not more. If I am eating with a friend I do my best to set my phone down beside me or out of sight and not check it. It is just too easy as technology becomes greater and easier to let things like this consume us so just be conscious of it and do your best. Also if you are one of these negative people who like to use social media in the way mentioned before I truly hope this can wake you up and inspire you to be better versions of yourselves with a purpose much greater than wasting your time being negative online. Other than that though we live in an amazing Universe and things are developing at a rapid pace so it is better to understand it and use it for good and not evil!
