Do you think the animals from Animal Kingdom will be okay during Irma?

Do they really have THAT much money?
Disney World is officially recognized by the NOAA as one of the most well-prepared places in the country when it comes to tropical storms. Especially considering how expensive many of the animals on display are, I can't imagine they don't have sufficient housing for them.
Would a zoo be held responsible if their animals got decimated by natural diasters?
According to this, zoos are required to take preperations.

the dragons will be fine
they almost certainly have shelters for them and Orlando is over 60 miles away from the coast so the storm surge isn't an issue

>Do they really have THAT much money
I bet losing the animals would be a drop in their seemingly infinite wealth.

Disney is actually fairly tight right now. Shanghai Disney went way over budget, ticket sales are down, and there's a lot of construction in progress to get Disney World ready for the 50th anniversary in 2021.
They could replace them, but it wouldn't be insignificant. Their investors would definitely hear of it so the press would as well, and Disney needing to replace all of its animals because they weren't prepared for Irma would be a PR nightmare and exacerbate the ticket sales issue.
But considering they have hurricane shelters on every property, and a team hired year round whose only job is to figure out and execute storm procedures, that shoudln't be a problem.
TL;DR: The animals are fine.

>not being more concerned about Sea World flooding and all of the animals being set free. Including sharks and gators and psychotic orcas.

Joke aside, that is the park of greatest concern. You can herd some zebras wherever, but a dolphin is stuck in a giant open-air tank.

Thanks for going into detail regarding the ordeal anon. This kind of put me at ease

SHIT what are they going to do?? As shitty as this might be, this could be their chance to escape SeaWorld, if the animals we're talking about were taken from the wild. If not what if they were to a live a better life outside? This is just a speculation though. All things considered that would be pretty bad..
>>2477103
Actually a dolphin could do fine just being let free into the water off Miami right?
>>2477153
I would think so...

I for one hope it happens. It would destroy Sea World and set those animals free since it won't happen any other way. Perhaps it's god's/mother nature's will.
