While I do agree with you that politics should be kept on /pol/, and some /pol/ users can be defensive, it's not as one sided as you make it seem.
Believe it or not, some people go there for news, current events, and of course politics. Not everybody chooses to spread this to other boards as well. But the minute you say something that's not 100% PC the torches and pitchforks come out. No fucking wonder they get defensive.
