>mom tells me she accidentally put dog flea medicine on our cat, but immediately washed it off when she noticed
>couple of hours go by
>about to leave the house to go the store, notice my cat is acting strange
>she keeps bending her ears back when she walks
>tell mom she's acting strange, proceed to go the store
>about an hour later get home, mom has cat in her arms and tells me I need to drive her to the vet
>freak out, cat has clear liquid coming from her mouth, figure she's having a seizure
>cat remains calm most of the way to the vet, only has one real convulsion right as we arrive at the vet, pisses on my mom as she's convulsing
>vet takes her, says she looks better than he hoped, and starts giving her treatment
>leave her at the vet, told to check back tomorrow
Be honest with me /an/, what are the chances she'll make it?

I hope not man, I love this cat so fucking much.
>>2466338
Man this is why I always tell people to get the oral flea/heartworm medicines for dogs if they have a cat too. ;_;
Hoping the best for your kitter, anon
>>2466338
F
The stuff they make for cats is very specialized because most everything else is extremely toxic to them.
>>2466338
He'll make it.
Probably gunna stick cat on some LRS subQ while its there and watch it also kinda depends was it frontline? revolution? also what dose was it on that medicine because plenty of farmers give basically straight ivermectin to their pets for the same thing.
OP here, just got an update on my cat. She's still kinda shaky and the vet said that they've got her comfortable. She survived through the night which is good, hopefully she'll pull through. Gonna try and visit her later just in case anything does happen, I'd hate myself if I didn't get to pet her one last time.
>>2466407
I'm not too sure of the brand my mom typically gives the dogs, but I know she was giving my cat the Zodiac brand.
>>2466701
Can you post a pic of your kitty, OP?
>>2466710
Sure, here's kind of a blurry picture of her when she was hiding in my cupboard.
Your vet is gonna tell you she died and in reality he's just gonna give her to someone else.
OP here again.
Just got the call, she's gone.
I just lost my bestfriend, and I didn't get to see her one last time.
>>2466736
Im sorry anon
>>2466736
So sorry to hear that anon. At least you gave your cat a great life. Always remember her
Sad but not unexpected. Make sure your mother never forgets poisoning your cat.

I hope your retarded mom kills herself
>>2466736
I'm sorry to hear, anon. We're here for ya.
OP again, final update from me.
Just finished burying my poor cat. Been crying all day.
Cherish your pets guys, I'd give anything for another day with her.
>>2466736

Your mother is fucking retarded

;______;
>>2466736
I'm so sorry, OP.
I'm sorry about your mom, too - she made a simple mistake that had horrific consequences. It's terrifying how sensitive cats are to stuff like this. My condolences to both of you.
Goddamnit I didn't need these feels right now.

>best friend is a house cat
are you autistic by chance?
>>2467491
Memes asides, if your first inclination was to post this then it's you who's suspect for being on the spectrum.
>>2467494
because i don't feel sorrow for OP whose best friend was a house cat, i'm the one with autism? ok m8
>>2467507
Yeah, you clearly lack empathy to any significant degree. You can't relate to the grief someone experiences when a close bond someone has is lost by death, because you yourself cannot form close bonds ... on account of your autism
>>2467491
>Seems utterly bewildered and threatened by a person calling an animal their 'best friend'
>Parroting the meme of autism being used to refer to literally anything you don't like
>>2467507
Ironically, a lack of empathy and inability to behave properly in social settings (Along with repeating jokes or phrases that don't make sense) is a classical trait of actual autism.
>>2467510
>>2467509
actually m8, go and look at one of the numerous studies about kids with autism and animals. couple that with the fact that he's clearly antisocial if his best friend is a cat... the link to autism is pretty clear. Instead you faggots chose to go with the good old 'lol no u' response.
I think your problem was thinking /an/ was a safe space. it is not r/an. maybe plebbit is more your speed
>>2467523
Obessing over small details, as you do with the "best friend" label, is also a trait of someone on the spectrum. Get diagnosed anon, we hope you can adjust to a normal life and not make any more social faux pas.
>>2467523
>using "anti-social" as a descriptor of someone who isn't sociable
S T O P
>>2467523
>he's clearly antisocial if his best friend is a cat
You mean asocial? You don't even know if he doesn't have other friends, though. People commonly call their pets their "best friend" when they pass. It's easy to get torn up about losing a pet because you can't look at anything they've done that is actually negative to you, basically every interaction you have with a pet is positive. The worst they ever do is piss or vomit on the rug.
>>2467531
thanks for correcting my word usage. the point was the same either way and you understood it though so i'm just going to call you a cunt.
>>2467530
The second definition on google is "not sociable; not wanting the company of others." so i ask.... what?
>>2467528
this sounds made up but who am i to refute it? thanks for the heads up.
>>2467537
on a scale of no to yes, how gay are you?
>>2467523
>What is a blueboard
ITT toxoplasmosis infected catfags can't understand that having a cat as your "best friend" is indeed pathetic.
>>2467545
>I'm safe from hurtful words cuz blue board
>>2466338
>letting women in charge of taking care of animals
that was your mistake
>>2467177
Wait, so you drove back to the vet and they gave you the corpse to take home?

>>2466736
this kinda smells of falseflag but if true then you have my condolences OP
>>2467557
Yes. They wrapped her in a bag and put her in a box. I took one of my t-shirts and wrapped her around her before I buried her because she always enjoyed lying on my laundry. Also buried her with a can of tuna.
>>2467680
Not something I'd lie about.
>>2467491
>making assumptions about me based on anonymous internet posts
Also, pets are basically family man.
Thanks for the condolences and F's everyone else. Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all I suppose.
>applying topical medicine meant for dogs will kill a cat
that is horrifying
>>2467731
Wrapped the shirt around her*
>>2467735
Yep, it's over the counter stuff too. Anyone can go out, buy the stuff, and make the same mistake.
