Shrews are venomous too. I love shrews. In fact I wish we as humans had retained more shrew-like characteristics.

got stung by a tadpole madtom couple years ago. I guess a lot of catfish have venom in the spine in their pectoral fines.

Was kinda like a bee sting, stung and kinda gave me a headache for a bit.

In my country we have the white seacatfish. It invaded the harbor where I fish and people can pull up several dozen of them in a night. Getting stung hurts like a bitch and also causes uncontrollable bleeding. I've walked around looking like something from a 2000s gore anime after encounters with them.

I want humans to

Agreed. I wanted to become a marine biologist and I slogged through 5% learning about animals and 95% chemistry/math/physics, only to find out at the end that my career prospects are basically zero. I ended up transferring to medical school and I'm happier than ever.

Yeah, I remember I really wanted to be a marine biologist until I talked to a woman at an aquarium who said she was one of few people there who actually got paid and the rest were just volunteers and that there's so few jobs anywhere she was extremely grateful to have this one.
