I just rescued a kitten yesterday and other than being underweight she seems to be a very normal active kitten. However, we noticed that her paws smell really bad and discovered that two of her paws have some sort of fungus or infection on them. She doesn't seem to be in any pain at all, it doesn't bother her when I squeeze or touch her paws, and she doesn't limp--she just stinks. We're going to take her to the vet soon, but does anyone know what this is before her appointment next weekend?

Fungal infections can occur on kitter feet. Especially in ill-kept kennels or cages. The vet will probably perscribe a topical anti-fungal and oral anti- fungal as well. Change her litter every day while she's on it and wash anything she sleeps on really well before she uses it again. Toss it if need be. Nothing else you can really do besides washing the paws in the meantime. Best of luck, with your kitter kat moving forward.
it's a gross disgusting cat, what did you expect?
