My sister's dog did the same thing for a couple weeks.

She (the dog, not my sister) started out just staring at a specific point in the wall for a few nights,and then moved on to growling, then to barking, whimpering, and scratching. We jokingly wrote it off to some kind of unearthly possession.

After a month or so, someone heard a faint scratching sound coming from the wall one night. We ended up knocking a hole in the wall, and there was a litter of baby possums freaking out inside. The fucking dog actually acted smug after that, like she was saying I told you so.

He's in the basement and the walls are concrete with wood paneling. No way bats got in. I have no idea what's bothering him but I really doubt it's an animal.... it's an imaginary thing in his mind.

Attempts to remove him from his barking corner have been met with fierce resistance. He snarls wildly and barks at me when I go near him to take him away. He really thinks there's some sort of danger in the room that I need to be aware of.

Ok so here's a new wrinkle, he just reared up on his hind legs, spread his legs apart and proceeded to piss all over the wall while barking at it. That's disconcerting to say the least. Any ideas how to calm him down from his delusions?
