are mosquitos attracted to CO2 or to light or both?
I've heard they key in on your breath, so CO2, but I don't know if that's actually true or a rumor. Also heard if you eat bananas there's a chemical in there that they can detect and seek out, either through your breath or maybe skin, I don't know.

i asked becasue it is hot now and i want to open windows

Both AFAIK, but mostly light. Either shut the blinds or fully open the window once you leave the room and turn the lights off.
Serious question, would it really be that hard to design some laser apparatus that detects mosquitos flying near your body at night and zaps them? Sounds doable

ok i can sit in darkness but i have not showered few days so they will be able to detect odour of my sweat and enter my room :(

invest in the mosquito mesh it's great, you'll be able to open the windows during rain to breath all that ozone, and during the colder weather in the morning because wind would be mostly stopped by it.

Just get some thumbtacks and tack up a sheer fabric around your window to block them out.
Like a ghetto version of those wire mesh screens.
It's not fucking rocket science.
You don't have screens?
Yes, bugs will come in your open windows, including mosquitos.

As someone who lives in a swamp, it always surprises me to learn that some houses don't have window screens.

Just get a regular bug zapper and mod it to emit small amounts of CO2 and hang it near your bed.
can i safely use picrel to kill mosquitos in my room? will it have detrimental impact on my pets? (reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates)
