He's a young Springer Spaniel

The same poison that's in chocolate is also in grapes.

I don't know for sure that he'll die as it's a large dog, but he will definitely be sick. Please don't risk anything and just take your dog to the vet ASAP, you don't want him to possibly die because his kidneys shut down.

I think it takes like around 24 hours for the effects to take in? I don't remember.

They'll give him something, don't play risky with this.

Also don't worry too much, the fatality of the grapes is hard to tell because it differs by dog breed. And he should be fine if you get him to the vet, but as he ate several of them, PLEASE just take him., because even a small amount of grapes can kill a dog.

Chocolate really isnt so bad for dogs. A bar od chocolate isnt gonna kill a geeman shepherd. Grapes are really bad but 5? Youll be okay. If 5 grapes kills a 60 pound animal ill be damned

Used to feed my labrador grapes (he loved them and begged whenever I had them) when I was younger, before I knew they were bad.

He ate countless grapes throughout his life and still lived to be about 13 or so. No grape-related complications.

Friends dog also ate something like a pound of M&Ms (milk chocolate--which is not the same as baker's chocolate, which is what is very bad for dogs to ingest).

Five grapes is nothing. He's fine.

your dog's fine. my dog used to eat grapes all the time. he liked them. they'll probably make him a bit nauseous and he'll drool more than usual, but for a german shepherd it would take a lot of grapes to do worse.
