hey guys, ive been thinking about getting some gainsbirds for unlimited eggs and making my own chicken coop for them, but im worried about the winter. Where i live (atlantic canada) it gets really cold in the winter (sometimes -40ยบ C). Ive done some research and it says they deal well with the cold and not to insulate the coop due to moisture, but im a bit sceptical, i dont want them to freeze to death. what do?
My guess would be that you can insulate a coop if you add a vent and something to heat it, but I'm no handyman.
The Homegrowmen threads on /out/ could help you, and /diy/ will likely be the best board to ask.
