Do any of you own a hound dog?
This is my 10 month old Basset Hound. He likes to counter surf, drink out of the toilet and sneak under my fence to play with his female doggo friend. I haven't got him neutered yet and I"m thinking about breeding him in the future since he's pure blood basset hound. I love the saggy skin, the long ears and the way they howl.
Does anyone have experience breeding these types of dogs and what kind of advice could you give a beginner if I decide to get a female basset hound and breed them.

The saggy skin creeps me out, it looks unhealthy.
You don't necessarily have to buy a female, you could look into breeders who want a sire. There are situations where the owner of the female seeks a male for their dog to mate with, so they sign a stud contract to pay a fee to the owner of the male.
You'll need to extensively research the genetics of your dog and the breed in general. You'll also need to health-test your dog to make sure he would make a good stud in the first place. And if he doesn't, you shouldn't breed him. But the way you describe it, it sounds you're looking to become something that's called "backyard breeder". That means someone who's just breeding dogs out of the simple wish to have puppies and possibly profit off of them. In contrast, reputable breeders are familiar with the breed's bloodlines, genetics and working purposes.
It's possible that I'm wrong and just assuming things, but that's the impression I get from your question. If you want to be a reputable breeder rather than a backyard breeder, you should start doing a lot of research. I don't know if there are any good books on this topic but the internet has material that can be found pretty easily, like for example here:

There are other hounds, like beagles and french bassets.

You aren't breeding dogs unless you own a female you breed. You just provide the male for money or for a puppy. If you want to actually improve the breed or breed your own line you need a female. Then, I don't know how it is in the AKC, but in FCI you need to have a qualification of a cynologist or similar to register a kennel and a name that your dogs will have. Otherwise you'll have to work with your breed club and your dogs won't have a kennel name.
