Growing up we had a weegee (Norwegian Forest Kitter) who was a darly. Very debonair, very intelligent, and very cat like. She had her quirks like wanting you to always watch her eat her food, but a sweetie for many years. No experience with Siberian Kot though.

I have two anecdotes of people being less allergic to my can (a Birman), which has massively different hair (silk like) than standard cats you'll find in my areas.
I'm fairly certain that slightly different hair structure is able to make cat hair become hypo allergenic. It's simple immunological responses and how individual cases might be slightly different, but still resulting in a general "cat allergy". I'm pretty sure if full immunological profiling would be done in people with cat allergy, it'd come up with pretty interesting findings regarding what epitopes on what proteins or other biological structures are there.
