Why doesn't anyone like vultures?
Whenever I mention them, people seem to really dislike them for some odd reason. I think they are majestic, good-looking birds. Sure they have red faces, but so do turkeys and those retarded ducks.
they're the trash men of the animal world
Old beliefs and misconceptions die hard. Vultures are still commonly believed to be
>dirty
>evil
>ugly
>bad omens
>will probably eat or attack living people, children, small animals
>etc
>>2437545
>dirty
>ugly
but they actually are?
would you eat breakfast off one?
Black vultures have a head that looks like an elbow. It would be cool to have one come around so I could give it stuff and get to touch it. They're sometimes in my yard but it's rare. There's also a turkey vulture I see around a lot.

Would you eat breakfast off of any wild animal? Vultures are no dirtier than other birds, they clean/bathe after every single meal. There is a reason why they are able to outright eliminate disease after cleaning up a carcass, as opposed to mammalian scavengers who help to spread it instead.

Don't they poop on their legs to cool off? 'Course hamsters eat poop and people still love them so idk
As a Florida resident I see turkey and black vultures all the time and I think they're pretty neat. Buzzards have the most impressive wings.

Turkey vultures are fucking huge. They can also smell, which most other birds (including black vultures) can't do.

The thing with that is, due to their extremely acidic digestive systems, the poop/piss comes out so acidic that it destroys bacteria on their feet and in the ground where it lands, as well as cooling them.
Vultures are awesome and totally underappreciated. I've heard they're very sweet, smart, and relaxed birds, too.

Vultures provide the best funeral you could ask for. They are wonderful animals, they are usually very pacific and provide an unvaluable service to the ecosystem.

They are
>dirty
>ugly
>smell horrible
And will happily eat a living small animal
Sterile!=clean

Gryphon vultures are very stately birbs.
Coolest bird coming through
I'd like to see an Andean condor, one day.

If I saw that thing coming at me, I'd shit my pants on the spot.

If you has the opportunity, there's a placer un Cuzco, PerĂº, named Cochahuasi. You could actually seat right next to them. It's one of the best places where you can see them

Everything you said can and does apply to cats as well, and at least Vultures are useful to the environment, unlike cats.

No loyalty, if you die, they'll try to eat you immediately. At least dogs will wait a little bit.
>>2438261
Wild dogs won't. In fact, they will eat you alive if possible.
vultures are cool
if I had a digestive system that could break down anthrax I'd be impressed, too
>>2438261
I wouldn't mind this at all, I want my body to be recycled into nature. Better than being put in the dirt in a 5000$ box, polluting the water table with preservative chemicals.

Pro here - About 10 years ago I participated on an import from Myanmar. They have a lot of them, while in academic literature/online they are not listed to be living there.

>>2439135

>>2438155
This video I'd such a tease.
>>2439167
Looks like it. >>2439135 looks to be leucistic.
I think this one is fully albino, however.
