Rolled up cat hair.
Seriously, save some cat hair, roll it up into a clump, and just set it down in front of your cat. It will go crazy for it. Cheap and convenient, just have to make sure your cat doesn't eat it (and they will likely try).

A barbie doll. My cat loves the thing.
Also stuffed animals. She carries them around sometimes.

Don't give cats access to objects that could be accidentally swallowed or any house plants (except cat grass) buy toys specifically for cats; many house plants are poisonous to cats.

There were these yellow, foam Nerf-esque balls that my cat loved to chase after and carry around in her mouth. So I bought her a whole bunch of foam balls.

She likes to chase/fetch. Wish I could train her to bring the shit back to me though.

I had a diabetes sized soda on my counter once and the cat knocked it down. I found her running around with the straw in her mouth, soaked in ginger ale.
I've since found these like nylon Chinese finger trap things I can get at the pet store for 25 cents, which seem to have sated her straw lust.
