Cat got into a fight and had a patch of hair torn out of his leg. Looks like he was bitten and has formed an abscess. I've put some Polysporin on it and he seems fine, still eating and wanting to go outside but I've kept him in tonight. It doesn't look pretty. If it looks worse in the morning I'll take him into the vet. I figure it's a common thing for cats so should I be worried for him?

Nah, he'll be fine. Just take a sharp box cutter and cut it open where the skin on the abscess is the most thin. Then let it drain. But make sure you do this somewhere that's easy to clean up.
Afterwards, gently rinse the abscess with warm water.
Consider getting a catio to keep him safe. He's very handsome.
We have feral toms that run around, what we do is trap and neuter them to reduce aggression and make sure they don't sin and fornicate and create more bastards like themselves. If you have to let him out, maybe try that so he won't fight so much. Animal control lends us traps for free.

>converting tomcats to christianity so they don't fornicate or sin
I want in.
