Hey guys. Before you get on my ass about putting it back, it was in my snobby neighbors front yard and they've been installing a new sewer system and uprooted it's home and I guess his dog attacked it? I don't know, but my neighbors wont let me put it back. It won't move or open it's eyes. I have someone doing an emergency run to the pet store to pick up crickets, a caterpillar, pinkies, and a live mouse for the little guy since I heard they eat those things.
Is there a chance I can rescue him? To be honest he might be an adult considering how tiny these owls are.
Any advice, an?
Anyone have experience taking care of owls?

have you called animal control yet?
they'll typically deliver it to the nearest appropriate wildlife rehab center.

I will if it's current state doesn't improve, but my dad wants to keep it.
To humor the old man I just want to see if there's a feasible way to feed it, help it recover, and keep it as a pet.
So far I've given it some water in a syringe and 3 mealworms whos heads I pinched off first to make sure they wouldn't hurt the poor guy.
I just. I barely woke up and I can't deal with all this.
Put a lid on top with some air holes. Darkness will help relax it

keeping an owl without being a rehab center is pretty damn illegal in every state that I know of. If they find out they will take the animal from you, fine you, and probably kill it. Take it to a wildlife rehab.

Dude, take it to either animal control or Audubon or a wildlife center unless you want it to die. You don't know enough about care and don't have the proper equipment for taking care of them. Be responsible, that's an animal's life you're playing with.

Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick don't you know that a burrow owl can't live in a cardboard box? A burrow owl lives in a hole in the ground that's why they call it a burrow owl!
