why isnt there a more active push for domesticating raccoons?

I don't know, there are some in my apartment's ceiling and they're no worse or better than the people who live upstairs

I want domesticated red pandas. They're endangered, what better way of saving them than making them pets? I heard they're pretty gentle/non-aggressive so that only makes it easier.
