Why don't animals have pubic hair?

Because most other animals aren't freaks like humans. Humans even still have the physical mechanisms to make hair stand on end, when it's largely no longer relevant because we have so little hair compared to our ancestors.

As for pubes it's said to help keep our junk cleaner, reduce chaffing to our more sensitive flesh parts and supposedly we get turned on by the smell of balls and hot pussy, which gets caught up in pubes.

Chimps bald too. Has to do with genetics. Hairier men and chest hair I imagine is more of a sexual dimorphism like beards or a lion's mane.

Other animals are mostly covered in fur or feathers all over so they don't need pubes, or have protective coverings such as their tail or sheathes.
