I was wondering if you could eat these, and how difficultit might be to farm some in your own home
What do they normally eat?
>>2397861
Honestly I have no clue, I think they've been cooked and sold as food before but they live at the bottom of the ocean so it probably wouldn't be easy to care for your own
>>2397865
They feed mostly on animal carcasses but I've heard they only need to feed once or twice a year
>>2397868
So they're carnivores,
I also heard that they can survive in
space for like 10 hours.
>>2397870
I didn't know that, that's pretty impressive

Interesting article
>>2397860
>he consent?
For some reason, giant isopods always remind me of these enemies from Super Metroid.
>>2397915
I can see that

You australians (I'm presuming) are fucking weird.
That's a goddamned giant cockroach.
Don't care deep sea, don't care docile, that thing looks like it needs to stay wherever it came from and only enter the human world as cooked food in a severe emergency.
>>2397962
>Australians
more like anywhere in the deep, cold waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans
Best Pokemon
>>2397962
Japanese love them relatively speaking. It helps that they can keep them in a good number of their aquariums due to their location and the fact that they have a lot of aquariums. They also sell plushes.
>>2397962
Lmao I'm not Australian but I get where you're coming from
>>2397984
Without a doubt
>>2398004
I have seen them in an aquarium once
>>2397983
He means because Australia has all of these terrifying animals and there's a stereotype that Australians find them cute
>>2398058
I know. They probably DO find them cute. I know I do.
>>2398062
Ohhhhh I see what you were saying now, and yeah I do too
>>2398056
I thought wimpod and golisopod were supposed to be wharf roaches.
Also I freaking love these things, they are literally just huge pillbugs and it hurts me every time they're on some clickbait list of the scariest nope animals. I wish I could have one as a pet
Anything else that even vaguely resembles these things freaks me the fuck out but for some reason I really like giant isopods.
>>2397984
I like horse shoe crab better
>>2398189
>Horseshoe crab
>post a Trillobite
Wut.
Hey guys, if you like isopods you should watch pic related.
>>2397808
I want to know the context of this image
>>2398204
>It ends with them all getting fucking exterminated through firebombing the town and bleaching the bay
Fans of isopods wouldn't like it
>>2397805
I gotta ask: do they taste good with garlic butter?
>>2398084
I really wish I could have one as a pet but rip
>>2398173
I hate roaches or anything like that but love these things
>>2398189
I like horse shoe crabs but they aren't the same to me
>>2398204
That sounds like a pretty dumb movie but hey if it's got giant isopods
>>2398205
I do too
>>2398206
Still might watch it
>>2398238
From what I've heard they taste like shrimp but slightly more metallic so I assume a little bit of garlic butter on one wouldn't be half bad
>>2398202
I think that's a Pokemon based on a horse shoe crab but I could be wrong
>>2398004
Wtf Japan
Rubber phone case
Phone case v2
Giant isopod tea infuser
This one has an interesting pattern
This one's huge, and look at it's legs
>>2398328

Giant isopod keychain
>>2398395
Too bad it's an Annelid worm, and not that big either.
>>2398395
That's a bristleworm.
>>2398410
Rip
>>2398411
Sorry I didn't realize
>>2398202
Kabuto IS a horseshoe crab, but you COULD argue that it is also a trilobite
but Pokemon tends to do this thing where they make Pokemon based on animals that were only sort of incorporated in another previous Pokemon, which makes people happy since the Pokemon they wanted is now real as opposed to just being loosely incorporated in another previous one
>>2398418
That makes sense
>>2398423
thanks
now let's wait until they make an actual trilobite
>>2398425
Hope I don't have to wait long
>>2397984
>thought he was gonna be shit
>turned out to be the best I had in my team
Both real and cartoon isopods are based
>>2398438
Giant isopods are the best
>>2397984
This, absolutely.
>>2397808
M I N E R A L S
Bigger one got here in the mail recently. He's good for cradling like a babby.
>>2398780
Oh yes sorry
i went to an aquarium once when i was a kid that had these in a touch tank, coolest shit ever
i can't remember the aquarium though, does anyone else know where i mean
>>2398806

>>2398814

>>2398785

>>2398494
Isopokemon
>>2398815
No idea, sorry. Searching Google seems to just point me toward a Reddit thread on isopods.
>>2398823
Around $100 CAD, off of Amazon.
>>2398825
It's fine, thanks anyway, also worth the investment
>>2397805
>oarfish thread dies but the undersea meme bug thread is still going
unbelievable
>>2398848
I love 4chan
>>2398848
Japs apparently like them so of course the brainless weebs do too.
>>2398848
We don't have as many pictures of oarfish.
>>2398863
I hate anime almost as much as I hate all the American weebs who like it. I had no clue the japs liked it when I found out about them
>>2398866
I missed out on the oarfish thread
>>2398848
Oarfish are fucking lame. Giant cute bugs are easily superior.
>>2398876
Hell yeah
>>2398929
>he doesn't want an adorable giant pillbug to snuggle in his bed when he goes to sleep at night.
>>2398953
I feel ya, bro. I'd kill a man to have a qt huge moth in my life.
>why live knowing I will never fall asleep cuddling a cat-sized moth
>will never feel soft, feathery antennae on my face as we wake up
>will never willingly give up lamps and lightbulbs in order to not disturb their sight and sense of direction
>never pat off handfuls of wingdust from my clothes
>never wonder why the fuck all the fruit in the house has holes in them
>life would be beautiful
Giant Isopods are the most boring and overrated sea creature in existence.
>>2398994
this. they are literally just pillbugs but big and underwater, and they don't curl up into balls. outclassed by the oarfish in almost every way imaginable
>>2398966
>>2398848
>>2399092
Want more deep sea creatures!!
>>2398874
Plenty of room in the catalog for another if you have content to share.
>>2399119
those little keychains are so fucking cute like holy fucking shit dude
>>2397935
>Tfw giant isopod has more eventful sex life than you
>>2399075
At least they have cool faces.
>>2399075
They also don't creep me out like pillbugs do.
>>2398953
I know I do
>>2398966
Relationship goals?
>>2398994
Guessing you're an oarfish normie
>>2399075
They do roll up actually and they're more interesting than most fish in the ocean
>>2399085
Sounded kinda gross at first but that drawing made me want one too
>>2399091
Not as cool as giant isopod
>>2399092
Didn't know oarfish had such a cult following as well
>>2399093
No isopod?
>>2399119
I see no isopod
>>2399187
I couldn't find the original thread
>>2399210
Jealous of giant isopod
>>2399218
Everything about them is great
>>2399091
