Tell me /an/, how does it feel knowing that you will never have your favorite animal as a pet.
>>2395403
Sad
Indifferent.
>>2395403
They're cute, but they're intelligent to a frustrating degree so I'm not too butthurt.
I like it only on cute photos
2d ver. of it, not the actual asshole predatory animal

i do
>tfw probably won't ever have a cheetah for cuddles and cardio
>>2395403
>rats
Aha, you have nothing on me friend. I will have large rat balls dragging around my shirt and arms for as long as I live because females ignore their caretakers.
>>2395403
Feels like agony, but it's better that way. Puffins are meant to be free.
>>2395417
Your dog looks scared and confused
Give him a treat for me
>>2395403
Pretty good. Why would I want to confine it to a life of captivity for my own wants?
>>2395403
Good. I have a 1/3 success rate in taking care of a cactus, I don't want to be in charge of an exotic animal's welfare.
There are many animals I either want as a pet (or less realistically, want to become) but I can't have for one reason or another. Pic related needs an expensive special tank, needs to be fed by hand several times a day, and has a lifespan of about a year.
>>2395936
These guys need a large, well-established saltwater aquarium.
>>2395783
stop attributing human desires on animals. As long as its needs for food, water, mental stimulation, exercise and climate are met an animal will be happy as a clam to be a pet
>>2395938
Or some other kind of large bird. I don't have the money or the room for one, and you need a permit for raptors I think. Also there's the fact that they could take off my damn finger if they wanted.
>>2395945
They went extinct in the cambrian era, otherwise I think they would be pretty easy. They're not very big at all.
>>2395951
This thing could punch through its aquarium glass and come out and kill me.
Meh
>>2395403
But I have a dog already
>>2395403
Red foxes are legal to own in some states, as long as you get an exotic pet license in said state. So I MAY get a fox as a pet someday.
but i am going to get an alligator
just need a house first so I can dig a pond out and fence it in
>>2395403
But I do
I did for a while, I want to get another sometime very soon
I don't want my favorite animal to be in the pet trade you moron. I want my favorite species to be in its jungle home and eat insects and make more of itself. I don't want a situation like your picture related, where there are more in captivity in people's backyards in Texas than in the wild.
>>2395769
What kind of cardio tho
>>2397451
Running
>>2395943
You forgot its need to fuck.
There are also lots of migratory animals that are just psychologically wired to be nomadic. You won't be doing a good job at mental stimulation if you keep them locked up.
>wanted a red fox
>they are illegal in this state to breed
>getting an arctic fox for $500 in July
feels great
>>2395769
I KNOW THE FEEL
>>2397561
That's what everyone says
>>2395403
I love abyssal fish so much.
It hurts to know I'll never see a live one.
>would be bittersweet as fuck to see a dead one, but I might go after that one day
>deep down I know it won't sate my longing for qt blushy dragonfish bro
>>2395417
clips his nails, FUCK
honestly feels fine, these guys are dope and pretty but one would be a bitch to maintain in captivity
>tfw you will never have a pet bear
I know you can get them and own then in some states and that people do keep them as pets. I dont feel that their tame enough and dont want to get randomly mauled to death on day because my pet got bored. Just wouldnt feel safe with one.
>m-maybe the government or some agency will domesticate them like the Russian place did with foxes
I think you can own one in japan at least.
Someday...
>I'll never own a cute Sloth
Feels bad, man.
I'll just stick to videos ofsloths in buckets to fill the void.
>>2398316
I know how you feel anon
>>2395403
I respect grizzly bears too much to have them as pets.
>>2395403
sad :(
>>2397010
you just summarized the whole point of this thread, gratz
>>2395403
>Having a favorite animal
>>2395403
>never have
not with this attitude, no
>>2398471
You can buy them in pet stores. At least in germany. For 6000euro
>>2395403
Not even going to be able to see them at sea world soon thanks to liberal faggot filmmakers.
Perfectly fine. Some creatures just aren't meant to be around humans.
Especially sharks.

Huh?

I bet they would be manageable if you lived somewhere you could house them outside year round. They might not be as rewarding to keep as other monitors though.
