This cat? Yes. It's a moggie. Think of it as like trying to determine what the average white American's ancestors' nationalities are. It's just so muddled, so long ago that you can't really tell. Tabby is a coat pattern, not a breed.

Your mother is correct in calling this cat a DSH.

cat "breeds" are actually just papered cat morphs. So yea

Might be a misleading analogy since there is a really really good chance that this cat doesn't have any purebred anything in it. Cat breeds are a relatively new concept
