Zero reason not to fix cats, unless you like them pissing everywhere. As per dogs, I think you can make logical arguments for either side. However, most of the arguments for not fixing them are conditioned on responsible ownership, and at least 90% of dog owners are irresponsible assholes, so spay/neuter is the best route.

Probably the most sane response I've heard on this subject. I also believe that keeping dogs intact has benefits, but the majority of people who want to have intact dogs should not have intact dogs, so I struggle to suggest it.

Why is it always males/neutering and never females/spaying? You'll get the rare female who is determined to allow her pet to experience the miracle of motherhood, but they are so wildly outnumbered by guys who treasure their manhood too much to consider "stealing it" from their dog/cat.

People who argue against spaying only talk about how invasive the procedure is from what I've seen. It's never been about protecting femininity or the chance for cancer or hypothyroidism.
