What animals do you love that are generally unloved by most people?
I adore scorpions. I find them fascinating. I'd love to own one as a pet (not pic related, an Emperor Scorpion), because I think they're beautiful.

Pitbull
>>2392376
Amblypygids
>>2392376
>>2392588
Well, they're also perfectly evolved. Scorpions haven't changed in millions of years, because nature also says "don't change what isn't broken". Scorpions are the pinnacle of arachnid evolution.
>>2392594
Are sharks, scorpions and crocodiles the trifecta of perfect predators?
>>2392595
No. Wolves should be in there somewhere. Their skills hunting as a pack are incredible.
>>2392596
shame they messed with the wrong hominid desu
Bugs and arachnids, vultures and crows, pigeons, worms and deep-sea animals.
Basically the only animals I don't like are internal parasites.
>>2392376
I like scorpions, they're very "sane" for arachnids.
Scorpions are best animals.
Millipedes, snails, and crabs desu. I rarely see them even mentioned. :')
>>2393139
What the fuck i didnt meant to write desu... I think it was supposed to say "too"?? Wtf
And dont forget octopi too
>>2393154
Anyway posting pics of the ones i mentioned
>my personal favorite: The Millipede
>>2393155
>crab
>but hermit crabs are best crab
>>2393156
>snail
>he's a big snail
>he's a good snail
>>2393154
OP here. Octopi are great. I've loved them ever since I was a kid. Just like scorpions.
I remember, in first grade, I did a report on them. Still have the thing. It's held together surprisingly well for a kid-made thing over two decades.
Ravens are the greatest fucking animals, despite often being associated with death, darkness and despair.
>>2392376
I dunno. I've had a desert hairy and an emperor, and I was fairly disappointed by how little I cared about either of them. The emperor was cool, you could pick him up once in a while and watch him eat, but the desert hairy was an asshole who stayed in hide all day. I mean, I cared FOR them, because they're my pets and my responsibility, but they were much more engaging in my mind than when I actually got them. Herps are much cooler generally unloved animals in my opinion, the perfect combination of beauty, low maintenance, and actual ability to engage you once in a while
>>2392376
camels, condors, owls, anteaters
Cockroaches
fruit flies
pigeons
termites
clams
crabs/lobsters (not hated but unappreciated as a cute animal)
Just about any kind of decomposer/scavenger, theyre so important but people just see them as gross animals (I mean what they do is gross but they're amazing animals regardless)
Scorpions, toads
>>2393268
Toads are honestly so cute. They aren't even ugly, why are they the benchmark for being ugly.
>>2393281
because they have warts i guess
I love spiders so fucking much. I don't know why everyone seems to hate them, they're total bros.
>>2393246
Ravens have literally been driven to extinction in England, Central Europe and the Eastern US because people hated them and thought they ate all their crops. Show me an animal more unloved than that.
>>2393264
Termites are cool as fuck, and pigeons are cute. The word "lobster" always sounds like a slang word for "bro" to me. Fuck the others though.

I really want to like spiders, but I have arachnophobia
>>2393264
>vultures are pretty important, but people always associate them as being bad or ugly
>they are actually really cool birds, but almost every other species is highly endangered and constantly getting killed by humans, whether it's poisoning, electrocution, or turbines
>>2393159
Its like having a slimy brisket for a pet.
>>2393155
I like how its face looks drawn on with sharpie.
>>2393254
I'm not sure if I'd survive if an exotic snake engaged me.
>>2393442
>Ravens have literally been driven to extinction in England, Central Europe and the Eastern US because people hated them and thought they ate all their crops.
Um...
>>2393573
It is not very well visible on your map, but this right here shows what I am talking about.
"The common raven was persecuted recklessly for allegedly damaging hunting and agriculture over centuries and almost driven to extinction in parts of Central and Western Europe as well as in the eastern USA. In Europe, the population reached an all-time low around 1940 and the range was the smallest. At this time, there were considerable populations only in southern Denmark and Sleswick-Holstein, in eastern Poland as well as around the Alps."
I live in western Germany btw, and there is not a single raven around. If you travel a hundred kilometers north or east, they are everywhere. But everything you see here is crows, rooks and jackdaws.

Spotted the homeless man child
>>2394068
Fuck I hate ticks. Just pulled one out from between my legs today. I crushed it and made it explode in the shoewr
>>2394286
>letting the blood of the tick get away into the drainage
You need some sulfuric acid anon, just drop them in there and watch them disappear
>>2394289
>letting the blood of the tick get away into the drainage
Why is this bad?
>>2394297
Yeah
Very bad
You just let a bunch of ticks get a shot a life by not throwing them into acid
>>2394306
It was a nymph, it couldn't lay eggs yet.
>>2394318
Good riddance, fuck ticks and anything that looks like ticks

The area you circled on the US part of the map never had ravens. Over here ravens are strongly associated with mountains and northern forests. That little red blotch where they are in the east is the Appalachian Mountains.
Spiders
>>2394638
I like tarantulas a lot, but there's something about hairless spiders that just screams "DO NOT TOUCH ME I WILL FUCK YOUR DAY UP." Huntsman Spiders give off this vibe too, though as far as I know they're pretty shy.

>>2392376
scorps are great and very underrated. My scorp does tapping sounds to try and hunt down a mate sometimes
>tfw i tap back and he gets excited and tries to find me
when I was in at a homestay in Turkmenistan, there was a based little scorp bro who I found living in my bed.
spiders, also mantids and scorpions, but mostly spiders
>>2393254
You can't think of spiders and scorps as pets imo. I think of them more like a houseplants. If you want something to cuddle you don't buy a fern
>>2394638
what the fuck is wrong with your.. is that your arm? or leg?
>>2393159
I WANT ONE
I really fucking love cockroaches
Like I have a little tank with tubes and shit coming out if it with at leased 23 German roaches in it.
They're pretty useful for getting rid of shit that you don't wanna eat.
>>2395394
It's anon's arm from a weird angle.
>>2392596
Painted dogs do it better. If I recall, they're the most successful predator in Africa, which really says something since Africa is one of nature's predatory thunderdomes.

Patrician choice. They are both very intelligent and fascinating.

I like cockroaches in an animal sense, but I lived in a shithole for a few years and they were common. Very unnerving seeing them scurry about my kitchen.
There were also bed bugs in that place, and again fuck those things, but as animals go they're kind of cool. They're sly as fuck and very crafty and hard to kill. Also males stab into a females body with they're reproductive organs. They're hardcore, and a huge pain in the ass, or abdomen if you're a female bed bug
Giant isopod
I want one. They're adorable.
How much are they, and what kind of care do they need?
>>2397900
I agree they're adorable, unfortunately they need large tanks and can not be bought as pets. There's a chance a boat might accidentally catch one and might give it to you if you live near the ocean, but it's hard to create the right living space for them. I think they're fairly easy and cheap to feed and maintain but they're hard to obtain and they require the right tank
>>2396138
I caught one of these beautiful gals when I was visiting my folks in Tennessee. They're actually really docile and put a lot of effort in trying to get away from a threat before even posturing or striking.
>>2397901
Sorry I did the same thing but here's my reply: >>2397900

I feel that pangolins don't get enough love.

Huntsmen are some of the most bro-tier spiders
>Non-venomous
>Not aggressive
>Eat other spiders
>Have a known large redback spider in a hole in the backyard that we just stay away from
>One day, see a huntsman there instead
>Redback is kill
It was a good day

What is "the right tank?" Do you just mean a really big aquarium or something more specific?
>>2394335
He stretch
>>2399573
You'd have to do some research but they live 500-700 meters below the surface so
>>2399553
All spiders are venomous you retard, but not all are deadly. Don't confuse the two.
