Can you help me identify this fruit, anon?
At first I thought they were blackberries, but that doesn't make sense.
Have you... never seen raspberries before in your life?

They aren't common here at all. I don't even know what they taste like. Thanks anyways!

looks like a black cap. they are delicious.
You can make a great jam out of them, reduce some sugar and wine and cook em for half an hour. Very good.
Are you on the east coast? They're not common in backyards but they're common in wilderness areas. When you harvest them just make sure there's nothing inside.

Doesn't look like a raspberry to me. I don't see the fine fuzz.

I always wondered why my wild "strawberries" taste awful.

Looks like raspberry to me. We have wild strawberries, raspberries, black berries, and soles at work. They are fucking god tier and all of their season overlap slightly so we go out at lunch and gorge on them. Good on you for finding them op, they are a real treat.

Rubus, uh, odoratus? some hybrid, there are many?

They don't look like raspberries. No fine hairs and the stems aren't brambled. Also the berry clusters are way too small.
False strawberries have roundish leaves.
