It would actually be pretty cool to have a bobbit tank
Get a custom rock with a few different holes, made of clear acrylic or something and try to transplant a few of them into it.
They probably don't move much even inside their holes, but they've got really neat coloration, and if you've ever wanted an intimidating supervillian office but think sharks are overplayed, you could definitely do worse than rainbow guillotine worms occasionally reaching out and cutting a fish in half.
>>
>>2376500
Their eyes see in 4 dimensions.
Height
Width
Depth
Temperature.

Yep. Them little bastards can see heat.

Anybody have the link to that thread with the guy battling one of these in his tank?
IIRC he eventually resorted feeding it cement filled shrimp with glass shards, ended up cutting it in half, and it still didn't die.

I can see 6 dimensions.
Height
Width
Depth
Red
Green
Blue

Yep. I can see color.

Anyway, temperature and heat are not the same thing. Temperature is molecular energy in an object, or some shit like that, while heat is molecular energy moving from one thing/fluid to a colder thing/fluid

I agree that it would be cool. My local aquarium has a bobbit worm tank which is basically just a slice of perspex with a branching burrow/tunnel drilled into it and a little crawling space on top. Just like a kid's ant farm. The worm seems content to chill in the tunnels all day and the perspex grants perfect visibility.

To be fair, while the the whole "cut a worm in two= two worms" myth is just that. It is possible for the section containing the head to fully recover from being cut in half, depending on where exactly it's body was severed.

Probably invert-eating reef dwelling fish, like triggers or groupers, but the worms very rarely come out of their holes. When they do it's generally just to grab something. They burrow very fast and can churn right through rock.

But there are some fish that have been observed mobbing their burrows like birds. http://www.livescience.com/56209-fish-spit-at-monstrous-sarlacc-worms.html
