Maybe they are anally very warm and perhaps do not generally show signs of being a threat.
Perhaps they produce an odor that attracts other creatures.
What if they have an odor that does the opposite, at least against mosquitoes. Thus animals use them as repellant.

In the wild there not a threat, just a peaceful grazer. Problem is your pictures are obviously from some sort of animal sanctuary because that caiman would normally prey on the capy in the wild.
