Is walking your dog just a meme? Or is it actually important for their health? My parents dogs are getting fat and I was thinking of getting them into a walking routine while I'm home for the summer
Is this a serious question or are you trying to make a joke?

Definitely do that if they are getting fat and consider switching their food.

Of course it's good for their health.
I don't know how they managed to get a schnauzer fat. If that's not the dog in question it needs a good bath. It's feet look pretty stank.
My 10yro min schnauzer is still full of energy and life and refuses to ever stop moving.
Take a look at the food their giving.
They need an adult food, no grain or sugar, with lower protein if they're inactive dogs.
Can't tell if this is serious or not.
Does you sitting/laying in one spot and only walking a few yards around the house probably only to stuff your face full of food sound healthy for you?
Also decrease their food. Don't leave the bowl full 24/7. Feed them in portions.
I'm (a human) sitting home a whole year doing nothing, and I notice I'm nearly falling unconscious if the queue is more than 3 persons in a grocery store. Blood pressure is fucked. Can't stand to be vertical and not moving for mere 10 minutes. So yea not moving freely isn't healthy duh

This, schnauzers have absurdly high prey drives and if you throw them in a big enough backyard they'll spend all day running in circles trying to chase birds/squirrels, I don't think I've ever even seen a fat schnauzer.
