So i use to have rats and now i've got an empty rat cage, i want to try a different rodent, got any that could go inside a rat cage? I've been considering weasel but i've been told it's a bad idea.

Why would you go for a weasel over a ferret?
Also, why not just get more rats?

Post the cage so we can tell you what would be good for it

Don't get a guinea pig. They require a lot more room than rats horizontally and if your set up has climbables the guinea could hurt itself. They're delicate shits. Weasle or ferret might be good if again it's big enough. This is a standard size for a ferret cage.

I have two degus and they are basically better rats

In what way? As they as friendly as rats?

They're very friendly and live a long time. They're not as smart but still fairly smart. They love spending time with their owners, they just need a dust bath and a minimum of 2 hours of play time.

I saw my local pet store selling them 25 bucks for one, 35 for two. Is that a standard kind of price?
