From what I've seen they can't bite or sting except for one case on a forum of some kid getting bitten.
They eat nectar and other insects.
I can't find anything on their exact lifespan but their close cousin the firefly can live for 2 months, so that's a good metric to go by.

So he'll probably be as hard to take care of as a standard firefly. Look to see if you can handle that first.

I remember /an/ helped me identify this beetle I found in a vinyard in November.

I dont remember what they said it was but I remember you guys helped me by warning it could really hurt me with some chemical it exudes.

I *think* you said it was a blister beetle also. I was very lucky, as I almost handled it. I remember looking it up, and /an/ was right. I was taken by its bluish green iridescent sheen.
