Nah, they're much more easily tamed and don't make for such hellish pets, especially the females (which are much more social by nature than males). There are a lot of South American resorts where they'll mob at your feet or even climb on you in order to get food since they're so accustomed to being fed by tourists.

I've read on various exotic pet forums that coatis are more prone to biting as adults than raccoons, and they aren't potty trainable. I almost adopted one locally but I just don't know enough about their aggressiveness.
