I don't get it either. Though the support for the dog meat trade has greatly gone down since social media became a thing. If their internet wasn't so strictly censored it would probably die out sooner.
Not that there is anything wrong with eating dogs, but the concept of humane treatment is foreign to them.

Idk I think it's an ethical issue on the basis of dogs weren't bred to be meat animals. They chose to let us domesticate them, and now these chinks stuff them to capacity in chicken wire sacks to transport them to their broiled deaths.

those wolves your ancestors domesticated didn't help them hunt and were useless for guarding or petting.

they pulled loads and they were eaten. And lots of breeds weren't meant to pull loads.

The yulin festival is all about torturing them before they're eaten though. I have no problems with people eating any animal as long as steps are taken to make sure the raising and slaughter of the animals are reasonably humane.
