Love these animals, is it true that striped hyenas and aardwolves can spray their anal butter at attackers like Wikipedia says because I've been researching into this and haven't seen any video evidence of it.

It's probably a hierarchy thing. Females are the dominant ones and they often fight as the dominant sex usually does whereas if you're a male you're fine since you are not considered to be a threat. When weaker females mimic males they are potentially safe from getting attacked by the alpha female.

I know they are closer related to felines than canines but aside from the aardwolf their closest relatives are Herpestidae. Like mongoose and meerkats so on that note, they're also more related to cats than canines.

The female can control whether or not to let the male mount and penetrate her. She retracts her pseudo penis(how much, i am not sure) so the male just stupidly pokes around with his dick until he can penetrate it. It takes a lot of practice until males get the hang of it, especially since males can be so nervous and timid of females that they often repeatedly mount and abandon ship a few times.

It has to be done through her not-dick(which is really just a weird clit acting as a funnel to her vagina and urethra) because they have no external vaginal openings. Their labia is fused together as a pseudo scrotum though I'm not sure why/how female spotted hyenas decided they need balls too. I can only relate the added testosterone to human women who will develop longer, thicker and penis looking clits so through millions of years I can see the bigger-dick clit thing happening, just not sure how growing almost-balls in addition to ovaries works.

There really isn't as much info on how they mate as much as how they give birth. I recall one site saying that the male's penis swells up a little inside her in a 'sorta lock' as he ejaculates, which makes them vulnerable and explains why hyena pairs find safe, isolated places to mate.

Really? Most people I know really like hyenas. In the furry community, hyenas are highly liked. In my childhood, a couple of my friends openly showed their liking for hyenas in the lion king.

'Muh i luv animals that are misunderstood im so special' is cringe.
