Try multiple litter boxes per cat, 2 minimum. Put them in more "social" areas of the house like the living room, kitchen, etc. Clean it every single day. If it's one of those litterboxes with a roof on it try removing the top. Cats feel vulnerable when using the litterbox so they might opt to go some place where they aren't cornered.

Pooping and puking probly aren't related. If the vomiting keeps up, vet.

My cat has pooped outside the litter box her whole life. Never understood it, just learned to live with it.

I have a cat who was recently doing this but it was purely behavioral.
She stopped and was happy as can be when the litter box was moved to where she wanted it.

As for the puking, she did that because she would drink too much water.
She really REALLY loves ice cubes and if you put one in her water dish she'll run for it and drink water until she pukes. When we found out that was the issue we stopped with the ice and she stopped puking.
