ITT. I want one. Post your animal wants.
>>2352457
I would love to have a communal tank of these. Unfortunately I'm too much of a coward.
>>2352485
This, and goats. We're adopting some soon and I can't wait to hear morning bleating.
We'd also like some neat rabbits.
As for pets I'm hoping to get a diamond dove once there's one up for adoption around me. Maybe a Chilean T, too.
>>2352498
If you're set on a Chilean T, go for a Euathlus sp Red instead of a Grammostola rosea. They're the chillest bros and will be less of a pet rock than a rosie would.
>>2352457
I wish I could have a garden, and enough space to build a chicken coop and get a couple of gals
>>2352517
GALS you say?
>>2352457
What is this?
>>2352498
is nice to see that there is another sheepfag around here. i was feeling a little weird
I want some Alpacas. Once I move into a place with some land around it I'll definitely get a few Alpacas.
Supposedly there's very easy and cheap to care for.
>>2352530
i heard that they stink
>>2352531
I wouldn't know. I guess it's good they're outside?
>>2352524
Tbqh I want a GALS too
>>2352514
Thanks for the advice. I've owned quite a few Ts, but the coloration of Chileans is just so great and I really REALLY want one. I one day hope to have a Blondie, but I don't have the space for one to get her energy out in any constructive way without self injury. They're so cute.
>>2352528
Sheep are absolutely my favorite animal. I'm hoping to keep three or four, and use their wool to spin thread and knit assorted crafts with it. (And obviously have them around as the cutest farm animals.) the babies can be so adorable and curious, and the adults can be very loving. I don't see any greater animal to keep for both companionship and resource.
>>2352626
Nice, what other Ts have you kept? Are you talking about a goliath birdeater (Theraphosa blondi)? It's very difficult to keep them thriving in captivity, you'd be better off getting a T. strimi. Looks pretty much the same, but with less molting problems.
I want one just to watch it punch things to death.

What could possibly go wrong?
I want to raise chickens but there are too many cats in my neighbourhood and I'm not buying them dinner
>>2352457
It's beautiful. You hunt birds with it or what?
>>2352661
I love these things. They look like something from the spider pit scene in the 2005 King Kong.
>>2352725
Cats don't usually go after chickens. They're to big and aggressive.
>>2352743
#when u suddenly get real nigga thoughts
>>2352517
You and me both
>>2352729
i worked at a place where we kept one of these, they are pretty aggressive,at least the one we were working with
>>2352777
Are you prepared to let them stomp their prey to death? If you are, then more power to you.
>>2352769
>yes I want an animal that will sexually assault me
>>2352457
>>2352777
cool,they even have whore lashes
I don't suppose anyone here would know if giant isopods live well in captivity?
>>2352834
i can't find enough information about this creature so i'm assuming it doesn't exist.
>>2352834
That aquarium in japan kept their's alive for a really long time, but they never got it to eat. No idea if anyone has made any progress.
i want a female homo sapien
>>2353116

your bedroom size
>>2353112
you can't search giant isopod on google?
>>2352724
>huge spiders
they're actually quite dainty by tarantula standards
>>2352744
This. My chickens are assholes, and they will fuck up anything short of a dedicated predator. 'Course, they fall into the "All Talk" category of fighting, but that seems to have been enough lately.
And I know they don't live terribly long and would eat me out of house and home, but I still want a Caucasian Shepherd. Always loved big dogs.
>>2353867
There's a guy from Macedonia down my street who has one. It doesn't bark, it goes A-HUNG like a lion. I love it.
>tfw burger
I love these things. Probably my favorite animal ever. A Fijian cresed iguana would be my second choice, though.
I've always thought these guys were pretty cool, but the wife is terrified of them beyond belief, worse than spiders. Dunno why.
I know that anything you can't get in a pet store is illegal in Queensland and raccoons are frustratingly intelligent and disease ridden, but they're really cute.
>>2352689
Doesn't look like any kestrel I've ever seen
>>2352457
It somehow looks like a tiny american eagle whenever I look at that face.
>>2354168
It looks like a kestrel that isn't an American kestrel.
I want an ocelot. Or, since that's probably out of the question, I'd settle for a Norwegian forest cat

>>2354967

>>2352834
>>2352485
I hate how I can't get a pet sheep without rumors starting. I said I'm going to get a sheep and a cow and breed horses and the guys zeroed in on the sheep.
>>2355325
call me stupid but...what kind of rumors?
>>2355373
Sheepshagging my sheltered friend.
>>2355373
That I'd make one my wife. I don't see why they think they're so irresistible personally.
>>2352517
Where do you live? You can house a single chicken indoors fairly easily. They only smell if you let the shit build up for days. Having only one means you'll have to play with her often or she'll get depressed and nervous.
Warning: You'll come to love her and cry when she dies at only six years old.
>>2355395
I'm going to say it's the latter, but then again I've given up all hope for humanity, and at this point not surprised by anything.
>>2355395
Ah relations with sheep is an old joke. At least here.
immortal rats
>>2352810
I love the "this ain't too bad" look on its face.
>>2354973
Cows are amazing for many reasons but the milk is nice too.
>>2352531
Worked with alpacas last summer, they didn't stink. The farm I was at had 200+ too.
They do however spit and are stupidly sensitive. Good lawn mowers though!
>>2354973
If you'd have asked me a few months ago I'd have said chickens, but we now have four girls in the back garden who are absolutely amazing.
So it has to be a highland calf, or a flock of herdwicks/ jacobs. Can't wait to graduate where I can finally get paid to spend my day with cattle!
>>2355395
fucking sheep and pigs is just a brit thing. and new zealand too
>>2355405
Yeah but what if he turns out to be an idiot?
I would prefer having more temperament bred rats around and rodents in general that take to litter training with no effort.
Also rat vasectomies would be a pretty useful advancement so you don't have to cut their nuts off.
Problem is all that humans seem to want to do with rats is kill, maim, genocide and keep them in a square foot of living space in a lab cage.
I don't see any progress in the future.
Mice that aren't fucking assholes is another request I can get behind.
>>2355441
Oh no, rural America gets their fair share of sheep fucking jokes.
Just not like new Zealand, but let's be honest, they probably are buggering the poor things.

Does these animals even have personalities? I'm not even trying to be edgy here, but I honestly thought that only cats and dogs are interesting animals to be around due to being pets, not just livestock for so long. Can those big herbivores even bound with humans?
I want a doge, but as much as my gf lives dogs, she's allergic, and the house we rent is no dogs.

They can be trained but I've never done it. Chickens are fairly intelligent and take well to positive reinforcement training so it shouldn't be too hard.

I love there cute little digging face
Utah Milk snake !!!
I want a shrimp tank
>>2356728
I'm actually setting one up very soon. I have blue shrimp in a community tank but I'm splitting it up into two tanks as it's getting crowded. The shrimp will go with the Betta (who strangely shows no interest in shrimp, even though he himself is also blue) and neon tetras.
>>2353153
Alright you two, get a breeding tank.
I saw this little guy in the pet shop and despite knowing close to nothing about turtles before that I am not determined to get one, but not before I can ensure a nice enviroment for it.

>>2352834
They don't. They often die during molting. Many zoos actually have the Japanese ones, which are fisherman by-catch. My guess is the low pressure they're kept at is bad for them.
>>2353138
One of my biggest regrets is I will never get to regularly cuddle kangaroos.
>>2356834
The biggest concern with turtles is that they require VERY CLEAN water. Most people keep them in terrible conditions and they get shell rot and all sorts of other problems.
>>2355544
>It came back
If you treat raccoons decently, they just run off or are curious. Bad people get bad reactions from them.
my grandpa used to have a steer farm in mexico and i used to love going every year and picking out which one was my new "pet"

I was thinking a single musk turtle in a 200 liter tank with live plants and very good filter. Though I currently don't have space nor 1000€ to spare for that. Is it at all possible to leave it alone for more than a day or two though? Or would I be bound to never travel the next ~45 years?
>>2360238
>live plants
>turtle
>He doesn't know
Lol. You can't have live plants with a turtle. They will eat every fucking leaf within a day. Turtles are fucking pigs.
>Is it at all possible to leave it alone for more than a day or two though?
Should be, so long as the equipment all runs properly.
I like rats but dont want them as pets because they live for like 10 ys and cost a fuckton of money. I like cats too, even though my cat is a nietzschean fucking murder machine who only loves me and mauls the fuck out of my family.
Life is not a good thing, it is a program designed to create monsters.
>>2355421
I honestly don't see a single thing wrong with cows besides the fact that they don't live forever and I'm not zoned to legally have one. I would cut off my dick and balls if it meant I could have one of these cuddly magnificent beasts.
>>2360241
The plants issue is mainly just with emydidae species. Musk turtles are primarily carnivorous and, from what I recall, are not inclined to eat plants. You still might have an issue keeping them rooted though, I know many turtles, regardless of species, can be inclined to tear up and dig through substrate.
>>2360304

If I was a filthy millionaire I would have one. Heated pool and all since my country is quite cold in the winter.
I really want one, and it wouldn't be too hard to find in this country. Still, I don't think I really have the resources to keep one healthy.
Had to stop myself from going and buying one today after watching this
I really want an emu I think.
Keep domestic ducks which I'm incredibly fond of but I'd love something larger.

Most hedgehogs don't like a belly rub, just like most cats won't go for one (aside from as a means to ensnare your hand). It's their most vulnerable area.
When you find one that does, though...
An axolotl would be awesome to have but I don't have the space in my shitty room for a large tank.
>>2363604
>>2363604
My cat enjoys a belly rub every now and then, not too often but he also is sometimes playful and yeah wants to ensnare my hand. I was reading up about them earlier today and they seemed pretty cool pets. Solitary, not overly picky (can feed them cat food etc), and tend to live well with more traditional animals like cats
