Cats
Hair dryer

Every once in a while he'll come across a cat and want to approach it, but he's very nervous. If it makes any sudden moves toward him he's done for.

One cat we met on our walk was very tolerant of him. He was sniffing it, trembling, and she just let him do it. Then she got tired of him and walked under a real estate sign on the sidewalk to leave and he followed her. His ass was too big to go under the sign and he scraped it along the concrete, he jumped in the air and the sign banged on the ground, and all the progress done with that nice cat melted away. Poor guy.

Yet terrified of a fucking vacuum cleaner

Why the FUCK is he nibbling on your dildo?
>>
My geckos hate the vacuum. They also get pissy about seeing their reflection in anything shiny enough to mirror. That's about it. They seem to have fewer silly fears than dogs I have had in the past.
>>
My doggo is not good with black people.
Not even joking or edging it's like he's not sure how to react whenever we meet a black person outside.

That and he's afraid of the lawnmower

Wise doggo
>>
>>2347998
>2yo golden retriever girl
>Dishwasher (she's so scared of it she won't go eat if it's open. Door fell open once and well...)
>Doors (some doors she won't pass if somebody isn't standing between her and the door as she passes or they're not as wide open as possible, I have no idea why)
>Hoover
>Vet
Then there's some things she doesn't like and doesn't seem to be comfortable with, like baths, but she won't try to get away or get overtly nervous.

>>2348283
Your doggo didn't see enough black people growing up, that's it. Mine'd probably be scared too, there's really few of them in my area.
>>
GSD
>vacuum cleaner
>having feet touched
>THE DREMEL

Akita mix
>the vacuum cleaner
>random things you wouldn't think were frightening like bits of noisy plastic
>he used to be afraid of every single person ever but extensive socialisation solved that little problem

Weirdly, neither have had problems with earthquakes, thunder, fireworks, that sort of thing. They are, for the most part, unbothered by the weather, although neither particularly like rain. The GSD gets so excited he makes himself anxious in the car, but that's different of being terrified of it. He loves getting in the back because adventures are his favourite thing. I haven't noticed any issue with heights, and once watched the GSD leap over a retaining wall and fall about three yards without any care in the world. The Akita mix can jump seven feet verticle.

Neither are thrilled with being left alone, but they won't destroy everything and shit on the floor. They just don't like it. And they're weird about being separated from each other.
>>
My cat - sidekick is pretty chill about everything, strangely doesn't even acknowledge the vacuum. Doesn't care about my snowmobiles or motorcycle, HATES my diesel tractor. The gas one is OK. Also, I came in the house at Christmas and yelled "ho ho ho!" and she about hit the ceiling. Going to get a Santa costume for next year and try it again. But the little fucker ate a few of my tomato and pepper seedlings today so she's on my shit list.
>>
>>2348343
>rain
Oh kek, my dog.
When we're outside and it only just starts raining, and she's feeling the first few drops. She turns around and looks at me as if I was the one doing it.
>>
Doggo 1:
>motorcycles

Doggo 2:
>the groomer
>being seperated from me or doggo 1
>>
>mannequin head

my fiance is a hairstylist and she used to leave her mannequin heads sitting around. her chihuahua would not let her eyes leave the fucking thing, and even after she hides them her pup trembles and growls for an hour
>>
>>2348429
>and even after she hides them her pup trembles and growls for an hour
That's because it's a chichuahua, that's normal behaviour for them.

Rescued cat:
>scared of bags, but only if someone's holding them
>doors being shut too loudly
>sprays of any kind, have to go to another room to put deodorant on
>strangers

Adopted cat:
>sprays
>a specific pair of shoes (got stepped on with them, lead to mildly serious tail injury)
>>
My pomeranians are the most scared of balloons more than anything. If you get one even close to them they may piss themselves and shake. My rabbit is scared of the sounds of coins being shaken, my horse is scared of the pomeranians and my spider is scared of ??? dunno. She doesn't seem to like crickets that are very small though, she will run to her hide ASAP.

>certain doorways in the house
>any tile/linoleum floor that isn't the kitchen

She's just afraid of the weirdest shit.

Pug: balloons
Corgi: weird masks

Both: vacuum cleaner, vet

The pug doesn't care about other dogs unless he's on a walk with the corgi - he barks at them only because the corgi barks at them.

Uut if you give the pug's toy to another dog? Pic related. I've never seen so much hate in a small dog's eyes before. There's this moment where it appears like he's so mad and he can't believe what he's seeing that he's experiencing cognitave dissonance.

Is it weird that my Samoyed dog isn't afraid of the vacuum? When he lies down to nap he just doesn't care about anything at all, I can push him around or clean him with the vacuum and he won't move.

But he hates thunderstorms, fireworks and loud bells because he suddenly got hugged by someone in a gigantic furry krampus suit with big bells once during christmas when we were in town. He used to be afraid of that one street too for a couple years when we walked past there but now seems fine.
>>
>>2348837
Mine wear hunting bells when we go to certain areas so I can hear them in thick brush for at least 120ft. They're the loudest things, remniscent of cow bells.

I never thought that a dog might be afraid of them.
>>
>>2348837
>Is it weird that my Samoyed dog isn't afraid of the vacuum?
m8, dogs like, dislike and are afraid of different things. My old dog wasn't afraid of the vacuum either, she was just bothered by the noise when it interrupted her naps.
>>
My dog literally has mental retardation. Always has. He forgets how to use the stairs constantly. He needs someone to encourage him the entire time. The process is painful, it can take ten minutes. He's also this way moving from room to room. Anything that makes noise or moves scares him that he isn't routinely used to.

Two cats brother and sister
Plastic bags.

One 11 yr old doggo (black lab mutt)
Whenever something is out of place in the yard he furrows his mohawk and barks like crazy.

The car was parked at the end of the driveway instead of all the way near the house, he went crazy at it so I let him out to investigate to see that it was my car.
He just stuck by the door borking untill I went outside with him and he hid behind me as we walked towards it.

Another time I had planted a maple sapling in the yard and again he borked like crazy and saw that it was just a tree and calmed down.

No idea why, we have never ever flicked her, but she is terrified. She'll avoid you for a while afterwards too
>>

Luckily his autistic behavior is limited to that and licking his bed.

Other than that he is the most well behaved dog I've owned. He occasionally goes on explores on our property longer than he should but he always comes back if you call him.
He was a little shit untill he turned 2 then his brain finally developed.

Mastiff

>fireworks
This was the only thing, every Fourth of July he would hide in the bathtub behind the curtain and I would get in the bathtub and cuddle with him
>>

that's reinforcing his fear anon.
you are teaching him that fireworks are something to be afraid of.

lucky she's a pup so counter conditioning now hopefully will help her

My old cat.

Wasnt afraid of anything. Would stare with disgust at the vacuum, dogs, strangers etc or whenever you used any type of spray. Wasnt even afraid of snakes.

A bit of thunder however and she would sit in the middle of the house wailing until somebody picked her up.

My dog is scared of notification sounds coming from my computer. I honestly don't know what to do about it. She runs in my room and doesn't come out for hours until I get her.
>>
>>2349858
Change the sound in the options.
If it still scares her at least you know it's autism and not a specific noise that's triggering her.
>>
>>2349859
It's any notification-like sound, and only from my desktop. She doesn't care about sounds from my phone.
>>
>>2349860
If she's food motivated, go to your sound options, play/test the sound while offering a treat.
>>
>>2349869
I've tried that already she won't eat it
